I used to have one really simular to that long ago... it looked like it had feathers instead of hair and weighed just over 2 lbs... but he thought he was a great dane or something...

Mine's always been protective & a little agressive.(He's about 50lbs) Used to get on the couch behind my head and growl at anyone that came in...My Protecter!! My best friend!
Got him a jester collar last year. bells and all.
