Wow, if I had only known. This will be a must "Visit" and a MUST my list of places to go.
We have traveled long and far for "Deep fried Pargo". Talk about the best fish tacos? This is is almost impossible to make at home.

You can not believe what crispy skin and moist tender white fish does to a fish taco.
Similar to deep fried turkey afficionados, but then it is very hard to find a fresh whole Pargo. Most in RP use the fish stick like batter for F.TAcos

Good find, Thanks Dog.

Wahoo give Ramon a try, his fried fish is to die for and the presentation is as nice or nicer than PDS at Bonita, however I will need to try PDS myself since I have only had their calamari and it was awesome, their "Cuba libres" were nice, almost real too!! not just your typical rum and coke, it was nice to ask for it and actually get it, I think that's what impressed me the most!!.

Will do, does he use the whole fish and deep fry in a good oil?, (nut oils, sunflower; peanut oil is best). It needs to be able to get very Hot. The picture looked like it was cooked in a high temp. Heat damages oil, so using the correct oil is the key.

Ramon's; never have been there, but does look very nice. I have been at the "Ol Port" in the old days, and the fish tacos where breaded, very good but the English style.

Here HK, http://www.lacocinaderamon.com/location.html

You seem to be the expert, how about the 7 seas? The old Rocky Gardens was incredible, was always on my list when visiting PP. The Dolphin "had" a good seven seas but the last couple of times I was disappointed. Clams where "gritty", they need to be more careful. Fish in aluminum foil? Never understood that technique, I guess simpler than parchment paper.

(touching aluminum on your teeth is like an electric shock for me) When scrapping the cheeses, (way too much), sometimes a small piece of Al get stock to the food and "Aii carajo!"

So you mean it is good? I rather have home cooked food than restaurant, then again it depends on who the cook is!! an yes he does cook it in hot oil and the taste is that of fish and not oil, ,the main reason I fall in love with his deep fried fish and no, it is not breaded like the fish and chips at the old "Old Port Restaurant", which were very far from the real thing, then again I ate the real thing for a year and could not get enough!!

Last time I went to Gamma's the fish tasted just like old nasty burnt oil, have not been there since!! I was very disapointed, not the same it used to be specially since the sign "For Sale" went up a while ago!!
Gash darnnet!! I will not be down this weekend although I am tempted, I bet the water is going to be delicious!!, I'll be going down in the 18th taking down a people for a wedding and will stay for a couple of days, I hope!!

We went kind of early, personally we do not like the one man band they have there, again our personal choice, he is the best for those who like him!! but not for US, there were a few people eating there and as the time got close for the guy to start his act it started to get fuller and fuller.
We, my wify and I had the same "Pescado Mar de Cortez" and it was short of finger liking good, due to the fact that I only do that at home or when eating charbroiled chicken, basically is a couple of fish fillets stuffed with shrimp and some awesome white sauce and all wrapped in bacon, we were so hungry that by the time we thought of taking a picture of the dish it was half gone, and the Bloody Marias were to die for!! I have to add that Puesta del Sol Restaurant has excelent food, never been disappointed other that they do not serve the Pargo anymore, we need to start filling the "comments" cards to bring it back!!

Looks way to fancy to be reasonably priced.
I am sorry to say that I think PP is pricing itself above preceived market value. I recently heard that it has become one of the priciest destinations in Mexico. I may go to a bar to have a few drinks but seldome eat in the resturants. Even 120 pesos is high for a full chicken when you can buy one in Costco for about $ 5.00. I still love Polly Loco and never miss it. The town needs to get back to Mexico basics and bring back more turists.

I have said it before, as soon as they start catering to their own citizens, the tourist will follow. Right now the majority is "outside" looking in.

Business owners need to repeat the Mantra "this is Mexico, not Miami beach". "We need to price with the local currency; the Peso! (But accept dollars and Post the rate)

And advertise BIG, 15: 1 for those paying in dollars. Americans welcome.

Yummi!!! and it is very simple, I do it when ever my wife makes beans, a couple of fried eggs on top of the tacu-tacu and a juice steak next to it, what is the frase....finger licking good!!
was the restaurant in Phoenix or Tucson, I heard that the last peruvian restaurant in Phoenix closed so I wonder if you went to the one in Tucson "Inka" by or close to Ventana Canyon Resort?

We have El Farol and Contigo here in Phx. Have not tried them but they get good reviews.

I went to "Flor de la Canela" to be truthful I went for the Soft Shell blue Crab festival, (With such beautiful and plenitful blue Crabs from San Felipe why does not some one introduce this wonderfull dish to PP) I flew a long way for this tasty treat.

Soft shell crabs, (Blue fins) they shed there shells late may to July and wow, have a deep fried sandwich with the whole blue crab on a frnch roll with cole slaw... this is a dish that is perfect for PP!

As a teen I lived next to the biggest estuary in the States, and loved to drag long lines of chicken necks and slowly pull the blue crabs in. With in 2 hours we could pull a bushel or two. Crab meat is better than lobster, sweater. Why is this not done in RPnt.? Where can you find blue crabs served in RP? Crab balls? This could be a big attraction to a smart restaurateur.

Flor De La Canela is not local to AZ but the Food is true Peruvian, adorned with gold leaf picture frames brought from Peru; Massive.
The food was amazing... Crispy Yucca with a yellow pepper sauce.... Latin America is very different then Mexico when it comes to food.

The only time I had crabs in PP was about 14 years ago, when the original Perico Marinero was open, the one facing the sea, it was my home away from home back then, they had special dishes not on the menu for the regulars and it was excelent, can not remember the name of the cook then, he was the best in town on those days, they brought us a platter full of crabs, we were four and there were at least 20 to 25 crabs and big too, I was told that they are not very common in PP back then, maybe they are not still, that might be by they are rare, but I know what you mean, in Peru we ate crabs and a couple of different ones all the time and they were delicious!!

I see them all the time walking the shore lines in the estuaries, I have never gone after them since it would be illegal as a non Mexican.

I just think PP does not see them for what they are! I have seen pics of coolers full of them, mainly on the San Felipe side.
Sold so cheap its embarrassing.

RP is deeper vs San Felipe, the Mud flats are bigger on the West side of the Sea of Cortez.
But they could be brought and marketed in RP.

I doubt anyone in PP has ever had a soft shell crab sandwich.

Check out Chesapeak bay, blue crabs and how they are marketed.
RP could learn.

Wahoo, I'm assuming you're referring to the Chesapeake Bay. I've never had fresh crab from the east coast. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and my dad had a boat and a little crab trap. Let me tell you..................that was some of the most fun I've ever had and the best eating ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
