hey, everyone, please check out our new website, www.rockypointrestaurants.net (http://www.rockypointrestaurants.net). It's dedicated to listing every restaurant in town (we have 52 now), with location, maps, description etc. No reviews, it's not a review site, and we're listing restaurants for free so if you have a favorite that's not there, tell them about us!

I tried to write to your website but was not able to. Please add Lolita's to your list. The #1 combo is YUMMAY and the prices are very reasonable!

You should be able to click on email us on this page: http://www.rockypointrestaurants.net/contact.html
I'll be happy to add Lolita's- do you mind telling me where it is, and I'll go in and have a chat with them? Thanks!!
Camel Toe Cantina now has Don Juan Salvadors. Great Burgers, ribs, wings, shrimp etc...

Why did you host it at bluehost? You should have told me, I could have given you a discount.

Last time we were there we tried "Fetes" (sp?)
Sorry - cannot give location. (I get lost in my camper!)

Where is the bookstore located? Do you charge to list a restaurant?
mel150
07-18-2009, 01:17 PM
The bookstore is online, www.westofedenbooks.com. Nope, we list restaurants ABSOLUTELY FREE!! Sorry, Tyler, I am a bluehost affiliate, so I get a little cheque every time I start a new website with them.. :-(
Hey, Lady Jeeper, I still can't find Lolita's! Help! Fetes... I'm not sure where that is, either. Darn. Can anyone help with locations of either of those?

Some others seem to be missing. What about the Lighthouse, El Capitan, La Curva and the Happy Frog?

Another place for great chicken is El Pollo Papago near the NW corner of Benito Juarez and Constitucion. You get a baked potato with your chicken there. Eat in or take out. The owner is a fellow named Martin, you couldn't meet a nicer guy.

Also, how about Asadero Guss and Lucky House at Calle 13? Are they still open?

Cathy,
Do you mean Hacienda Las Fuentes? On the south side of the road going towards Las Conchas? Is that your "fetes"? If so, it's already listed.

OK - It's "Fedas" past Rosy's heading toward the condo's, before the RR tracks turn left and it is on the left side of the street.
There is an advertising sign on the left side of the road before you turn left.
Hope this helps! It's kinda new. Was there in April, but it may be closed now.

Fedes restaurant is on the road going to Sandy Beach resorts before you get to the round about with the Worldwide Group office. If you are going from town and you pass the Pemex across the street from the building that used to be Mr Rocky Steak go about 2 more blocks toward Sandy Beach and look for the little sign in the median. Go left about 1 block and it is on the left side

Yep, we're keeping on top of it, everyone, thanks for all the suggestions- as it says on page one, our aim is to list every restaurant in town, but we're only two people. :) If you can get your favorite restaurant to send us a picture of their front, a description of why they're unique, their location, and a scan or picture of their menu, that would be a huge help! We can list them faster that way than if we have to go visit every one. That being said, we did list 52 restaurants in our first week, so we're well on the way. We really appreciate all the input!

Ok, Lady Jeeper, Mariscos Lolita (http://www.rockypointrestaurants.net/mirador.html) is up, and thanks for pointing us that way! More to come, we also added Asadero El Real (http://www.rockypointrestaurants.net/calle13.html).

Bryans seems to be doing very well. It is not just a tourist spot. Wed. nights there is a special on hot wings and you won't get a seat if you get there late. Friday night gets out all the Black Doggers for the Prime Rib special. During special sports events, soccer and fights, the place can be jammed also. They recently added several Mexican favorites to the menu. Even on quiet nights there seems to be more locals than tourists.

Are you going to add something so we can vote and add ratings/reviews?
mel150
07-22-2009, 01:25 PM
HA! I don't think BK will ever make it- or McD if it arrives. We were in Nova Scotia once, north of Maine, and the McD there was selling a McLobster sandwich- right next to a restaurant selling real lobster rolls! And they were doing business!!!!
Tyler, we don't currently plan on adding ratings or reviews, we don't mean it to be a review website, because reviews are so subjective. For instance, we went to El Pollo Papago last week and were really disappointed, but someone else on here really likes it, so I assume we just hit a bad day, or a bad time of day. Having said that, it could change in time as the website grows. Right now it's lots of work just getting all those restaurants listed! :)

I noticed that some of the readers wanted actual "reviews" of restaurants in RP. A good site to read restaurant reviews is www.restaurantsinrockypointcom (http://www.restaurantsinrockypointcom).
mel150
10-12-2009, 10:05 AM
That's true, except not to be mean, but they are way out of date. They have a ton of restaurants on there that are no longer in business. Just to be warned, you may find a restaurant with a great review and arrive only to find a boxed up shell of a building.

New Bakery
La Cubanita, turn at Pollo Lucas two blocks off Benito Juarez, on the corner on the right hand side, can't miss it. It's the same building as Oscar's Fruiteria was in. LOTS of different baked goods, even a very respectable baguette. Owner is very nice, good English. Place is spacious and clean.

We just spent one week in PP and ate at Mary's on the Malecon at least five times. We loved the food, the wait staff, the view of the water, the roving musicians and the businesses and vendors outside. We started the day with a cup of good coffee at the Candy Cake just downstairs to the side, sat on the patio above Candy Cake and waited for tacos for breakfast one day. We made friends with the vendors that sold in the open square to the south of Mary's and Candy Cake.
