Passport expiry

I have traveled to at least one country where their immigration rules stipulated that there must be at least 6 months between the date of entry and the expiry date on a passport. I.e. if the expiry is imminent (less than 6 months away) they are concerned it may expire before you go home and won't allow entry.

Does any such rule exist for Mexico? If so, has anyone heard of it being enforced? Thanks!

Yes, just read on a blog that someone was taking the ferry out of La Paz Baja and he was asked if his passport had 6 months remaining. But you can cross back from Penasco without one and they don't check when entering.
