Sandy Beach access

Found another way to get on Sandy Beach for the day. Went into Wrecked at the Reef, asked if I purchased something could I bring chairs and umbrella on the beach in front, was told no problem.
Brought our chairs, umbrellas and a small ice chest, set it up and then went into Wrecked
and bought 3 beers for our party and enjoyed the afternoon.
We had some sodas, beer and water in the small ice chest, but were low key about drinking them.
Man the Jetty sure is big and ugly when you are up close to it.
It looks like it is 600 to 800 feet long from in front of the Wrecked OTB.
There is a security guy on the Jetty not allowing any access to it.
The downside to doing this is every vendor there hit us up 2x.

I sit in front of Bella on the beach and talk to vendors all day. When I first came to RP, I bought lots of stuff from the beach vendors for my places. No I no place to put anything else. I can't beleive how long it has been since I bought my 1st place there. It was before 2001.

I love haggling with vendors and see all their interesting stuff. I have been doing sb for over 20 years so I have bought alot of stuff, I do get tired of saying no gracias all the time. But I only have so much money and minimal space to put stuff. It's still fun.

I wonder if the Reef still rents the beach for dry camping? I think it was $10 per day and they would still charge like $7.00 for the use of the dump station.

Over the weekend the wife and I got on the Rhino and cruised the fence line starting at the four way where the launch the ultra-lights to the first resort. There's a couple places you could sneak in and the only gate entrance was secured with rope. I guess the real question is, what would they do if you got on the beach and parked by the water to kick back a few? To the bigger question, why is closed in the first place?

I have done it many times between the Reef and the hill with no prob.

The reef RV park will rent you a space for $20 per day which gives you beach access

For years before Spa was finished, I used to go buy a beer at the hotel on the beach and then go use ther beach. The use to have lounges and palapas and the waiter would come down and take orders.
