Building Blocks, Home Port

Lovin it in RP!
The other home port thread just got too long.....here's a few pictures of the crazy busy construction of the Home Port Building blocks going on in the desert North of Esmeralda. They have been busy for weeks and are adding capacity to manufacture the blocks they need. It is incredible what they can do!

A friend that also thinks this dog won't hunt said one of the saving graces of the deal is a botanical park will be constructed where they are making these God awful blocks.

Pay attention....stuff is getting done without your approval or blessing. I know, I know, it's a crime. It is happening though

Fitting that this mess is proceeding right behind another unfinished project. Hopefully the botanical garden works out. Also still think they can probably do something cool w/ the jetty when complete. Fishing, market, a good place for tourists to get charters, etc.

The wind turbine works just fine, an unfinished project? I don't think so.

In penasco it seem we have a difference between city/state/federal backed projects and private money projects. The government backed projects seem to have more stability and a higher probability of completion than those in the private sector. Maybe something to note when comparing what will be finished and what is not finished.

Yeah my guess is it probably gets finished to some degree, much like the airport. Since there more than likely won't be actual cruises there anytime soon, they should probably move fast to make it a launch spot for fishing charters, dinner cruises, etc. Right now that area around the Malecon is so congested with limited parking. A new, regulated starting spot for those types of activities would be great. Also, try to assimilate it with Wrecked, Mar Blu, and some new businesses to try and make it more of a destination. A giant (empty) passenger terminal and jetty would be quite the eyesore.

Has anyone done any fishing near the jetty yet?
Last time we were down it was fairly quiet and seems to be a great potential spot to cast out.

Have a friend who took his boat over with out much luck surprised. But I think it will only get better as time goes by

I don't know much about the upstanding jerry person who posts here quite often, but on this blog it seems he/she rents or is trying to buy property in Santo Tomas. As I recall, ST is closer to somewhere else, to buy a gallon of water, than it is to RP. Likely she/he invested there instead of RP because she/he chose not or could not afford the prices of RP. Nothing wrong with that. We all live within our means, however modest, without denigration of those who might have more.
Notwithstanding being a drive-by non-resident of RP, this jerry person has never said anything positive about Penasco, and is constantly downgrading RP, especially regarding the cruise ship port. It appears "jealous jerry" is envious of the progress RP is making making. jerry seems to be on a mission to discourage all readers and tourists from being positive or optimistic about RP, and visiting us. This person is on a mickey-mouse mission to defeat the cruise port, for the benefit of no one. I guess failure in Penasco will make jerry feel better about something ?

Can anyone say for sure jerry is a male or a female? pointer or setter? Not that it matters....just curious.

If you only knew just how funny you are, you might be able to laugh at yourself, "not that it matters"... This one here reminds me of the guy who recently told Joe he should get a kayak when Joe already has one decked out to the max.

British Virgin islands used to be awesome ,then they thought it would be great to get cruise ships in. NOT! we no longer go to Tortola where the cruise ships dock. I know it is called progress ,but I would rather go to a Place where they don't have cruise ships. Just saying ,one man's opinion,Leigh
