Question for the 4 Wheelers....

Will a 2000 or 2500 lb winch be able to break a vehicle (truck) loose from getting stuck in the sand?....I'm not talking about the axles buried....or would I need to go to something bigger?

What is it attached to, Joe? As the name implies, it can only pull 2000-2500 pounds. That's mostly an atv winch..... Most pick-ups weigh between 5 and 7 thousand pounds, more if the are 4 door or raised......

Do I misunderstand how they rate the winches???....isn't 2000-2500 lbs. the "pulling power"? You should be able to move a vehicle that weighs 5000-6000 lbs. with that much pull (it's just rolling resistance)...or in the case of getting stuck in sand on pretty level ground ....how it's happened to me...is starting to slip with one of the wheels.

Not arguing with you guys....just trying to understand....

Nope, the numbers are the pounds on those ATV winches.....Google it, Joe. There's a lot of info online....
