Puerto Penasco Home Port

Sounds like they blasted the rocks to smithereens....40,000 cubic meters of rock blasted and the rocks from the blast are smaller than the specs for the smallest rocks needed?!? What's up with that?
Again you can't fix stupid. Truck strike. Truckers not getting paid. No permit for blasting. No blasting caps. Blew up to much shit. No profit in the work. Hello!!! Maybe they took all their profit up front that is why they are taking a walk. Sorry it is going to take a long time to sort this out. Glad they did not shut the Reef down or the RV Park. Now let them open up Sandy Beach it is still a cash cow for the Browns. O.pen up the new fishing jetty and I will be happy for now.

In the US it's called up front billing. Bill more than you spent and hope they don't go broke.

Hey, just a word of caution for those that may be walking by this area especially for those who haven't been back to Rocky Point since work started on the port. Last night, I strolled down Sandy Beach to have dinner at the lovely restaurant next to Wrecked at the Reef as I have in times past. It was dark out, no more construction going on and when I got up where the port area began, there were a bunch of rocks in front of me, so I started walking over them to get to the restaurant. Big mistake. It wasn't until I was already up and over them that one of the security guards present, whom I didn't see before, came running up to me out of nowhere and demanded that I come with him to be escorted out of the area. At least, that is what I thought he was going to do but instead took me up to the front gate of this project and informed me they would call the police to have me ticketed if I didn't pay them cash for trespassing on private property. I ended up paying them in cash so I could go eat dinner next door. But anyone walking down in this area in the evening needs to be careful if they aren't familiar with this new port project because there are absolutely no signs along the beach saying do not enter or private property. There was a roped off area but that was further in from the water and didn't include the rocks I had walked across so if you are too far to the left on the beach and it is dusk/evening, then you may miss the roped off portion of the beach. You can still walk down to go to the restaurant or bar, but you now have to walk around this entire area before you get to the port, so just be careful.

Lovin it in RP!
We just spent the last week there, if you paid someone to walk on the project that is all on on you. Don't be such a victim. If you want your money back tell me how much and I will get it for you

On edit again< I shouldn't use the word stupid.,.....I simply don't pay someone cause they tell me to I just dont get that

Maybe I should clarify, because it wasn't mentioned in my post but this went on for a good 15 minutes with the two security guards stating to me that the police were going to be called and they would have me ticketed for trespassing. They refused to relent while I was in the fenced in area. I supposed I could have just ran off back out where I had come from towards Wrecked at the Reef or back down Sandy Beach, but I didn't want the police going on some sort of "manhunt" because of what two security guards may have reported to them. All I wanted was to have some dinner and there I was in this fenced area with two guards demanding cash. I held out for as long as I could arguing with them, but after 15 minutes it was clear they weren't budging. It was after I paid them that they opened up the gate to let me leave.

well if I read between the lines and you are threatened if you report that is not good news

Based on this report it appears the security guys are nothing more than common criminals. I wonder who hired them? On second thought, never mind, just answered my own question.

Nevertheless though, for anyone reading this please do not let what happen to me detract others from visiting and enjoying Puerto Penasco, especially the Mare Blu and Wrecked at the Reef. It is a great place, just be alert, aware of your surroundings, and as informed as possible about your locations of travel. Had I done my "homework" ahead of time, I would have known that this part of the beach became private property and access to where I was going restricted.

Still that being said it does not give them the right to extort money.
