Those fish aren't like over-pressured spooky lake fish. I can't imagine line would matter. I bet they'd hit a shiny piece of a coke can on a piece of string.

I bought a nice rod and reel, but most of my good fish seem to have come on my walmart catfish combo with the spinning reel spooled with the factory 10 lb. mono. On the kayak, troll a 3-4" blue rapala just outside the wave break any evening for Corvina.

Thanks The bodega had no swimsuits. We got one at the shop with all the pool toys just as you're driving into the port area. Bug spray was available at a pharmacy in the same area

I'll be down at the same time, just up the beach on Encanto. I've caught plenty of Corvina down there just past outside the wave break in my kayak. Troll rapala or similar. I seem to do best around sunset or when the tide is running. Caught one Grouper ever from the kayak maybe a 3/4 mile out...

I always catch triggers offshore over any sort of reef/rocky area.
