Taking the plunge

Hi all, will be finally taking the plunge and getting set to rent in Los Conchas for a year, maybe more if it goes well. Still in Phoenix but trying to find out what I can do in advance for getting the rental set up.

Do I have to wait until I'm down there to get electric, cable/internet, and gas going? Or can I jump on some of those things in advance (heard there might be services/companies in RP that can help get everything set up?).

Been following RPT for a long time and looking forward to meeting some good people.

These things are not a big deal at all. The owner of the property will be paying these charges and pass them on to you. The electric account (CFE) always stays in the name of the owner of the property. No city gas you pay as the propane tank is filled there are no accounts, cash as you go. Most owners will ask the renter to pay the monthly water bill as well. No cable in Las Conchas. If there is a phone on the property the owner will want to keep it in their name since no new lines are available. Internet comes over the phone line so no phone no internet. There are companies claiming to have other access to the internet but I have not been able to find them.

Maybe you have found a place to rent long term already , but in Las Conchas long term rentals are extremely rare. Those owners willing to rent usually do daily rentals. Much more money. If you are thinking beachfront, pretty much forget it and be prepared to pay. Properties for sale are sometimes offered for rent but usually they will not take it off the market. There is no central place to search for rentals so finding one anywhere in the city can be difficult and time consuming. . RP times classified is not helpful. I would call Twin Dolphins at Mex . 638 383 3919 or 602 324 7241. Dee usually manages some long term rentals and may have one available. Good luck.
