From a friend....the new cop score in Baja. "Last week Mexicali I was pulled over, officer was nice until I demanded that he take me to station to pay the fine, he kept arguing that it “ take a long time”, he then proceeded to check my glove box and the rest of my truck and found a 3” folding knife in my glove box, then he proceeded to handcuff me to my car door , I kept asking to go to the station and he refused. Hard to argue and make demands when you’re handcuffed and scared. He wouldn’t show me his badge and when I went to take his picture( I still had camera on my front seat in reach of other hand) he promptly took my phone away and threw it where I couldn’t reach it. He was relentless. I finally got in-cuffed when I decided to pull pesos out of my wallet and leave them on the seat. He shook his head, this went on for what seemed like 20 minutes, I finally gave in and miraculously was released after forking over 2000.00 pesos. Moral of the story..... I don’t know. Maybe I should’ve stood their handcuffed for another 20 minutes and seen if he would get tired of the game......:ahhh!:
