Driving to Mazatlan.

We have driven to Mazatlán for years. We make in 2 days and never travel at night. Haven't done it for about 4 years. Yesterday a friend (who is Mexican) told me I am crazy to do that. We have never had any problems. We go thru a couple of military patrols but had any problem but a flat tire. (A truck load of Army guys stopped and changed the tire. Only wanted some of the pop I had in the cooler). Anybody gone lately?

I've made the trip a few times, but not recently. Was there last week of May, but we flew down. Didn't have the extra days needed to drive there and back.

I guess it depends on what your Mexican friend means......
