We took the new toll road this week end and it was perfect. Very fast. Starts about three miles east of San Luis crossing on HWY 2. Took it both ways. Much better/faster heading to Rocky Point. The toll road drops you just ahead of the federal check point.

My experience is that it takes alot longer. The road from Puerto Penasco to El Golfo is perfect. From El golf to the boarder is very slow ,Federal check point which is very slow depending of traffic. Boarder crossing very slow. I tried it going both ways and going to Rocky Point from LA is...

We saw this a dive trip on the El Duke out of San Carlos it was incredible. A pod of dolphins came to check out the boat and you could see long trails in the water behind them. It was like an alien esperience. We also had the sea lions check us out when we anchored at the island for the nite.

The Federales use the KA band same as highway patrol in the US. The cops in Sonoyta are just using old equipment with the X band. Its easy I have always found them in the same place. What I found to be worse is the Park Police on the otherside of the border.
