    Trip Report Oct 16-19

We had a great trip ! I was with 4 ladies...yeah. I was only able to make it down to La Pinta one day. Fishing was great during the middle of an incoming tide. Can anyone tell me the condition of the road into La Pinta from K32 ??

Thanks to all for the input. We are good to go. It's just the old memories of trying to go from Cholla to Sandy beach in the 60's and if you took the wrong fork...well there was usually a bunch of Paisanos jumping on your bumber or pushing you through. No worry's...Thx again

    Cholla Bay Old School

My father, who's 88, remembers a Charlie Wilkenson (not Wilkerson) out of Tucson, since the '40's with Whitaker Pools. Not sure of any Cholla connection. Wish my Stepdad was still around. He would surely remember since was there since mid-'50s

    Cholla Bay Old School

Doesn't ring a bell, although I was kinda young. My Folks would've I imagine. Cholla was tiny. Everyone always helping get unstuck, etc. ! Hey, Doesn't anyone know if they still use those contraptions to launch the boats. We called them "bugs", with the elevated engines. I guess a ramp...

    Cholla Bay Old School

HaHa! Yep, that was the style (beach boys) The dog was a CB Mexican loner ! I believe he had a little 19 footer with a catamaran-hull and a nice outboard. There is probably a "Whitaker Pools" pick-up in the foreground. (out of pic) My Father later started towing down a 22 footer with an inboard...

    Cholla Bay Old School

Wow ! I used to love Nacho's store as well. Some of those firecrackers (especially from China, one we called the atom bomb) were downright dangerous ! My Step-Dad owned a place aout 3 blocks west of JJ's (then the CB bar) from 54 till 71. I wasn't down there till 58. (and wasn't walking yet !)...
