    Labor Day is coming

We were down during late September last year and it was uncomfortably hot & humid. We visited again the first week of November and the weather was terrific. So this year we plan a trip just after the rally in November.

    Stolen car!!

Most Ford products, including the Mustang, have all been equipped with a passive anti theft system (since model year 2000) which protects against drive away theft without a properly coded key. Either the culprits had a key or they used a tow truck to steal the vehicle.

Boarder crossing, everything we need to know.

The checkpoints are for everyone's safety. Be cooperative & allow the soldiers to do their job. They're there to interdict the flow of drugs and arms. Be courteous & if possible, offer a bottle of water. You shouldn't have any problems at the military checkpoints.

The Reef RV Park Not Impacted By Marine Expansion

Gus told us yesterday while checking in that the property will not be impacted by a marine expansion and we should count on many more visits in the years to come. Great news!

Rocky Point Rally ** Should We Avoid? **

We planned a visit to RP during the week of November 5th but just noticed the 2012 Rocky Point Rally is scheduled 11/8-11/11. We've never been down during this event. Does the bike rally present any issues that should be avoided by a visitor to RP with an RV? Thanks!

Thanks Russ. We're visiting RP again next month and wanted to ensure we're still OK not stopping to get an entry permit when we cross at Sonoyta.

What else is in Cholla Bay besides JJ's?

Are there any plans to improve the roads or is the condition intentional to keep out everyone except the locals? The washboard effect is extreme.

Aw Crap! I need how-to help with my iPhone...anyone know this stuff?

There's a process to restore your contacts list if you've sync'd your iphone within itunes and haven't sync'd again since linking your Facebook account. You can also restore your contacts list if you've archived your address book.

    Sonoyta Bridge?

Crossed at Sonoyta today with a 31 ft travel trailer in tow. The detour signs have been removed and the two lane bridge was a welcome sight. Traffic was moving normally.

    Sonoyta Bridge?

What's the alternative if you can't cross at Sonoyta? Nogales or San Luis? Which would be better from phoenix?

Camino a la Cholla - Water Truck

I had a feeling it was salt water and that's what bothers me most. Would the Cholla road that cuts across from the Sandy Beach Realtors offices to the Bay be an alternative? I've never driven that route before.

Camino a la Cholla - Water Truck

When we stayed at The Reef RV Park last June a water truck would spray/soak Camino a la Cholla from where the pavement ends to the stop sign. We had never noticed this before. Is it something recent? Do they do this every day? If so, what time of day do they spray water? I ask because it...

RV Park occupancy during Mexican Independence Day Holiday

I realize that RV traffic to Rocky Point will most likely increase during the Labor Day Holiday but will that also hold true for the Mexican Independence Day Holiday on the 15th & 16th. Will it be crowded for those dates also? Thanks.

First timer to Rocky Point next week and have questions for the veterans

I only had a telcel phone for use between Sonoyta & Rocky Point and decided not to add any more minutes when we couldn't get coverage. My Verizon phone works great while we're in Rocky Point and that's really all we needed.
