Hello all! I called on my way down on Friday and they still had my reservation. No problem. La Roca was clean, quiet (it's true), safe, and certainly worth what I paid on a holiday weekend. Thank you all for the advice!

For future reference, there was about a half-hour wait to get into Mexico shortly before 1pm on the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend.

Wow. Still no answer. Been trying every hour since 8am. Sure hope I have somewhere to stay when I get down there tomorrow.

So, as I mentioned, I made a reservation at La Roca for the 23rd and 24th. Carla took the reservation and asked that I call the day before to confirm, since they don't take a deposit. I've been calling all day and no answer. How nervous should I be?

Wow. Looks like I got into La Roca on Friday / Saturday on Memorial Day weekend. I'd imagine I'll need a trip to la farmacia para zolpidem if I'm going to get any sleep. :) I'll try Granada del Mar next trip out. Thanks all.

Hola. I'm thinking of taking a day trip soon, but may decide to spend the night. Can anyone weigh-in on some safe, clean "budget" hotels that I won't necessarily need a reservation for? Ideally with A/C, the ability to flush toilet paper, and take a hot shower. Thanks in advance!

I'm late to the party, but I echo this sentiment.

First time we went, the waitress was rude but the food was outstanding. Prices were pretty high, but I would pay what I did in the states for a breakfast that good any day. Second time I went alone, and the same waitress was friendly and the same food was just as outstanding. :)

This place is so good. Soooooo good.

For what it is worth, a friend and I went there in February and the bartender made the best tasting Long Island Iced Tea I've ever had. About the same price as a Long Island using a well mix in the states. Didn't eat there, though. I'll go back this weekend just for a drink.
