How very fortunate we are!

After spending a beautifully cool week on the Penasco beaches with perfect water temperatures and cool evenings, we were headed home on Thursday on US highway 85 between Ajo and Gila Bend when two emaciated, shirtless and dehydrated Mexican males stepped out from the bush, waving us down with prayerful gestures, pleading for water. It was split seconds but we pulled over as soon as we could find a clear spot down the road. At exactly the same time as the two males began to come towards us, a DPS suv pulled up across the highway from them with emergency lights flashing. Both of the men tentatively crossed the highway towards the officer while one of them actually knelt down in the middle of the highlway with hands together as in thankful prayer towards the sky.
At least they have been rescued, we agreed, as we witnessed this all in our rear view mirrors. May God be with them we thought as we proceeded on our way, pondering how incredibly fortunate we must be in comparison, whether we always recognize it or not.
It behooves us to remember such incidents we witness from time to time, whenever we might feel sorry for ourselves after having a 'bad day'.

How do you know they were Mexicans?

"Emaciated, shirtless and dehydrated" certainly describes more than a few million MOOSE-LUMS.

Death to Am-Re-Kaa! So they all say.

How do you know that they weren't Mexicans and what difference would it make to any decent American if they were other than Mexicans?
Jungle Jim
Because they are coming here for only one reason....TO KILL YOU!

I hope they were able to get hydrated. Those are someone's someone and God's children too. Kudos for attempting to give them water as long as you felt you were safe.

What would a wannabe, Rambo blowhard like yourself have done, given your numerous, self proclaimed combat sorties in South America? Would you have shit yourself for fear of them wanting to kill you?
Jungle Jim
I would have made a nice wide turn around them, as I've done many times, and let El Diablo take care of them.

Allah-Hu-Akbar!
