Colorful Tile Work

This forum has been a huge help for this newbie. Want to have an outdoor shower installed. Have seen some very elaborate and colorful tile work done. Saw one in Encanto that had sun, surfboard, margarita glasses, it was pretty over the top. I'm thinking just a happy sun face and a little color. Also, do you see need for both hot and cold water? What I really need is the tile artist. Will probably do some kind of mural by front door, outdoor shower, and maybe house name in tile. Then, I hope I'm done spending money for a little while.

We have only cold water at our beach shower. I suppose if you wanted to rinse off in the winter, warm water would be nice but we usually don't go in the water in the winter months. One problem we have had is our exterior tile is failing and we have a lot. We didn't know any better and watched the tile guys use the same tile outside that they used inside. It was the soft, red clay looking tile that was glazed in different colors. Seemed to be the one everyone was selling and using. It held up well inside the house but fell apart outside. We even had some replaced with the same tile, same result...duh. Now we are slowly replacing all of our exterior tile with a glazed porcelain tile. Looks just like the stuff that's failing. So far, so good, no failures. It will take a long time and a lot of money to correct the situation...be very careful and don't make the same mistake.

I could show you the outdoor shower I am doing right now for my client on Las Conchas but it is a surprise and she frequents the forum too, so I will have to wait until next week when it will be installed.
I am also fixing the plumbing, originally they used a ball style valve instead of a shower valve, so all that is getting repair the proper way, all I do is by code, tile, plumbing and electricity at mexican prices.

You do some pretty amazing work. Loved the shower that looked as if you were in an aquarium.
