FMT Sonoyta

Does anyone here know if you can get an FMT (tourist visa necessary to sign legal docs in Penasco) on the weekends. Please, only those who know FOR SURE . I do not want to make a trip back to the border to get this if I can't get it on a weekend coming in. Tried googling it to no avail. Thanks

The FMM can be obtained and paid for online and stamped at the 21 kilometer checkpoint south of Nogales but I recall someone verifying that it couldn’t be done in Sonoyta recently.

The FMT is now an FMM (has been for awhile) The border issues them 7 days a week from 7 am to 11 pm. Hope they are better at that than answering their phone down there.

Sonoyta has an office to issue FMMs?

Yes, got one there 6 1/2 months ago. Just to the right after the inspection point.

FMMs are available in Sonoyta right about where you get inspected going into Mexico on the right hand side.

Remember the early 80's when you had to stop and fill out a form to carry, not sure if it was an FMT but it looked similar
