Bringing down the skipjack next week. anyboby been to 51 latey? We were thinking of staying the night on broad one time so we dont have to launch twice. Any ideas where to achor? In front of JJS?

Yeah, figure $25 to $30 a night for a slip in Safe Marine on a day-to-day basis.
I wouldn't recommend anchoring out much of anywhere unless you're pretty sure what the weather is going to do. If we get a nice high pressure building, as we're supposed to, no problem.
I still think back to the time I anchored up at the 51 and spent the night in my old 23' center console. A beautiful flat day, gorgeous evening. Went to sleep on calm seas about midnight and awoke about 5 am to 25 knot winds and 8 ft. seas. It was a long, scary, wet ride back in! I was like - "Where in the hell did this come from??" It's amazing how fast the conditions can change on the Sea of Cortez.
