Sanitary barriers in other locations?

I looked every here I could think of for the answer to this but cannot find it among the rules. Gracias.

If someone who has never been to Mexico before, shows up at the border in Sonoita, with a valid US passport, crosses the border, can they still get a current Mexican Tourist VIsa?

They do not have any reservations anywhere in Mexico..

Are they denied access to Penasco at the Sanitary Barrier based on missing documents?? If so what would a person in this position be required to provide to gain entrance?

Are they denied access at any point on the highway to, or in Caborca ?

Are there any other stops denying access and turning people around with only similar documents from Caborca, or Hermosillo all the way through to Bahia de Kino?

Gracias

What I understand on this whole thing is this;

You can cross the border at Sonoita with no problem just like before. One would assume you could get a visa.

As of June 16th the only way you can enter Rocky Point is if you have a reservation at a certified/qualified rental that has went through the sanitation procsess. That includes paperwork from the city a certification letter that the rental is qualified, a REAL rental agreement and it is on the master rental program. City, health department ?

There are check point(s) on the Caborca highway. If try to go on the cross cut road you will be turned around to enter the city via Freemont Blvd.

Published the other day that as of July 15th ( if all goes well ) homeowners will be able to enter the city. The sanitation walk through and drive through may or may not be open......

What about Santo Tomas and Puerto Lobos? Saw some Americans fishing Puerto Lobos on a Instagram page I follow, CORTEZANGLERS... If you're crossing at Sonoyta would you just go MX 2 to Caborca and then on to the coast via Y Griega? Americans are obviously getting to Lobos so how?

Joe,
I saw a post from Miramar here, who said the road to Caborca before the bridge was open.
He said he drove out to his place and somebody ripped him for doing it and exposing Penasco to his potential of carrying CV
even though he never got close to town .

They moved the screening station to south of the bridge awhile ago because they control access to only Penasco now.
If your'e coming from Encanto to get on Freemont there's a check point outside of town east of Las Conchas to prevent you
from entering town without going thru the ? screening?.
I'm sure someone can verify this for you or if it has changed recently. Or I'm just full of it.

I have reports from people who have gone down to Lobos recently, and I will be receiving more later this month (might even go down myself), but the experiences are somewhat varied and things are changing a bit and can continue to change. This makes me reluctant to pass on what I know. If you assume you'll have the last person's experience, you're gambling.

I would be in the same boat trying to risk going only to be turned back. The requirements info coming out of the mayor's meetings can
change daily or even hourly. So cloudy at best. We also haven't had more than a few people say what their real experiences were going to
RP and the areas east. Forget about FB that is a total Cluster Fbomb for any real info.

Honestly?????it looks like September for most folks and even that can be pushed off. If I wasn't from here and I just needed a vacation....I wouldn't come here right now...especially if you feel you are more right (correct) than other people, the lock down has been brutal and most of you from North of the border would not be able to handle it. Just sayin..... Naomi and I still don't drive together in the car.......1 person per cart in the store.....face mask everywhere once you leave your property, if not you are not allowed in anywhere.

Anybody in Las Conchas know Heriberto? He does landscaping and odd jobs, If so , could you provide a phone #?
Roberto
Oh no !! The head cheerleader has fallen off the wagon. The situation for Penasoco at this moment, seems to be fairly well understood, where the barriers are located, what documents we our are expected to be provided, given the situations, etc, and that the requirements can be radically changed literally overnight, so you better be prepared for any eventuality, short of nuclear.ar war with Iraq. remember there a lot of different agencis at each step. .

What I want to know is are there any comparable stops with similar requirements in the Free zone from Sonoita And Kino??

I could take the relatively short trip up and around and spend a month in Kino visiting the ex's family and not feeling someone will want to look up my butt hole at the next intersection. The sugra has alread done that and I passed inspection.

You know Beto as soon as I saw Miramar posted the back door was open we got ready to take advantage of the slip up, unfortunately we were to late our intention was to drive out towards caborca but I guess they monitor this site and put all sorts of military with drones blocking the highway.

It happened fast. If it was not posted if could have been used selectively for quite awhile, but it only takes one balbber mouth in the world of Social Media for something to go worldwide in seconds. I swear there were pickups loading ice and beer later that day. T
Then there was the crazy talk about me saying they were spreading the virus on their tires ??!1

Russ up until a few weeks ago it hasn't exactly been a picnic being cooped up here in Phx either.
With Penasco's current rules it is probably worse there. Some of the Mexico rules are beyond belief (from a Gringos point of view),
but it's their country and are doing what they feel is right, so no disagreement here.

We have friends on our street who we haven't seen more than a few times since March
and it usually amounts to a wave or quick conversation on how everyone is doing. So most people are staying at home.
I'm still doing it but getting out 75% less than before waiting to see the CV end or get under control better.
I'm thinking we have a 2nd wave approaching. will it be bad or only mild, who knows?

Hopefully soon I'll see the ocean in Mexico.

H friend just told me that Tucson is getting hammered by increases. He actually planned to go home there for the summer but decided in was safer here. Anybody know anything?

I’ve studied the Az public health website. One thing they are doing that is not helpful is that on their zip code map the highest density is 40+, and basically every urban zip code is 40+, and probably has been for weeks. Studying other representations of data, every urban area in the State looks bad, with large recent increases.

try this link: https://adhsgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/84b7f701060641ca8bd9ea0717790906

Our zip code was at 291 last I checked - under 9 square miles. That's well over 30 per square mile. Not showing tests or deaths by zip code, only positive tests - so no way to gauge percentages. Banner Health reports that ICU beds are over 80% full and increasing, so that not great news. stay safe, stay healthy.

Major problem with zip code data is that it gives number of infection cases but not number per capita within the zip code. Number of cases should correlate to the number of people living in the zip code. My zip code in Tucson covers a large area with relatively low population density and has 31 cases, which is very low compared to most of the other zip codes. But most of the zip codes with higher case numbers have far more people, so it's hard to compare relative safety. I keep asking employees at the store where I continue to go regularly - Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Safeway - if they know of any employees who have become infected. The answer is always no. I haven't heard of anyone - friend, friend of a friend, etc., who has been diagnosed with Covid. Until that changes, I'll consider myself safe in continuing to do what I've been doing in Tucson, which apparently is far more than I'd be allowed to do in Rocky Point.
joester
our zipcode is just under 9 sq miles, so we're at over 30 per sq mile. Our hospital is Banner. We're home until Thursday, we'll take day trip north for about 4 hours of small creek trout fishing. One friend had the virus, sick at home for 3 weeks - said it was like a bad flu, she was lucky.

Bush Fire has hwy 87 closed from Bush Hwy to Payson, hoping the fire gets under control before it burns Tonto Basin. Also hoping the road opens up soon - want to go fishin!

What else can happen right now?! They have the rules at PLEZ so f'd up. Forcing everyone to use Pleasant Harbor which concentrates more people in one smaller area. Seems counter intuitive... So basically, no Rocky Point/Mexico, no Lake Pleasant, no Rim Lakes/Rim Camping... (unless you want to go I-17 to Camp Verde, East on 260).

There's not a lot to do to keep the mind healthy right now. This is starting to get OLD. The inconsistency on what and how things are being managed right now is extremely frustrating!

But hey, Old Town Scottsdale right now or at any of your favorite gyms YOU'RE GOOD TO GO but a one man kayak on one of AZ's biggest lakes??? Risky...

Hwy 87 still closed, looks like it will be for more than a few days right now. Hoping folks don't lose everything along 188 - Jakes corner thru Tonto Basin, Punkin Center, etc. Gisela is getting notice to leave.
Damn.

Pretty rough... Apache just went through this last summer. How the hell does a vehicle catch on fire?!

Hahaha this is soooo true and so funny (even though it shouldn't be). This is like "it's safer to have sex than to hold hands!"
