Well, I got an e-mail from HR today saying that I was going to be over my annual leave hours by the time I retire, which I have moved back to the end of December for a few different reasons. That means I will lose the pay. So, I have decided to come to my little slice of heaven on Sat. the 9th and stay thru Monday the 18th. I haven't stayed over 5 days at a time in PP since the mid 90's. I have plenty to do getting my new digs in order and a few other things so it will be good. Who all is going? I can't wait! The weather just said the temps should be in the 90's by then...Perfect! Also, on a side note, I am looking to buy 2 matching outdoor ceiling fans with a light. Anyone? Looking forward to seeing everyone!
That's more like it girl!! You already know our plans (which aren't much, LOL). Rob, your B-day is on Sunday....do you and Michelle have any plans?? Chari and I talked about getting everyone together that day, but if the Chief's game is being televised that afternoon, Bruce and I would like to have our butts' parked on a stool in front of a big screen somewhere!!!! Let us know.........we'd all like to meet you and Michelle. Looking forward to "seaing" old friend's and making new one's.................(BTW, we'll be down the 9th-17th).
Sounds like a great idea but I will be heading home sunday morning. (We are coming down Thurs should be there by 2) We would love to meet everyone as well.
Sea you guys and girls soon
I am bringing Dan, Connie, Chris,Tim,Denise. Should be a great time I will be there around 1 on Thursday Thinking about fishing on friday and for sure partying on Saturday unfortunately I will be leaving Sunday morning
Still planning on being there Friday thru Monday....may have a friend...doesn't know if she can get off from work on Friday. Should have the jetskis.....
Slider (mim-burger) eating contest at BooBar at 2pm on Sat......
Ooohhh, I'd love to do that but we are attending the benefit for La Montana Escuela at Ramon's Sat. eve. It's a buffet and music so I wouldn't want to be full for that! I could meet you all there at Boobar and cheer you on tho..... How 'bout that Rob and Michelle? We can meet at Boobar Sat. at 2. Bring your earplugs, tho.... Unless it's classic rock, it's way too loud! According to Joe, my name is Sun City Chari but that's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL!
I DO have some hearing loss!!!!! Thanks to Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Aerosmith and a hundred others. It's just that Disturbed group type of noise sounds like a train wreck to me....I never thought I'd become my mother......
I do have a funny story... I was sitting at a stop light playing La Grange real loud. (Like there's any other way!) I had the doors and windows out of the Jeep. I'm just sitting there singing, "How, how, how, how" and I feel eyeballs staring at me from the right lane. I turn to look and see a kid in one of those little cars with the big exhaust pipe, I don't know what you call them but it was lowered and had those bling bling big rims and skinny tires. I turned the volume down and said, "can I help you?" He said, "well, at least it's loud." LOL! Gimme classic rock and salsa anyday!
I find the "noise" coming from some of those "types" of vehicles very irritating....the deep amplified (takes a nuclear reactor to power) base at very low frequencies. Makes the roadway vibrate! If I suffered from road rage syndrone, I would probably roll my truck over those "rice burners"!!!
off topic....does anyone know why sometimes you get words that are repeated in your post....when you haven't typed them....and they don't show up in "edit" mode????

what did you say say say ? I could not hear hear hear you you you.
We'll be down on Saturday, leaving on Monday. Maybe we'll get the chance to meet some of you :-) We were hoping to come down on Friday, but the rain has delayed our work schedule :-(
After some reservations done I will be down the 9th, arriving between noon and 1 and I know many are already making plans to go to the oyster farm festivities for CEDO's 30 anniversary, which of course I will be joining too so I will have some space available in the van to take some people to the oyster farm, so if any of you are interested please let me know!!
the entrance to the estuary is about 3 to 4 miles on the Caborca road, past the Las Conchas turn off, and then it is about another couple of miles to the oyster farm/restaurant.
So, what.............twenty minutes or so from PDO??? While I've got you, and anyone else who can help me out, where would be a good place to buy steaks down there?? My sister-in-law asked me about buying them at Ley's, but I've never bought beef anywhere down there. I know there was a thread about this some time ago, but I couldn't find it. Help, anyone??????
I've bought steaks at a couple stores in town....caniceria's, but one is no longer there, and the other was closed half the time I went by. Now, if I haven't brought them down with me, I get them at Super Leys....they usually have a decent ribeye...but they are smaller and thinner than what I get at home. Once I asked the butcher there, and he cut some for me.
When you guy's come down do you bring your 24' sail boat, or do you keep it down there? Also Chari has been known to let vagrants like myself sleep under her..never mind.
