Mark asked that those planning on taking the boat trip to Bird Island over Thanksgiving send him an email so that he can get an accurate count. There have been a couple threads within threads and it is difficult to get a good count.

You can email him at:

Bouy says Fri and Sat will be realy bad. Sure hope they are wrong. But what if?
Ladyjeeper
Nooooo Billllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't the boat big enough to go in rough waters?
rockyptjoe
Mark....what time do you expect the boat to leave (either Friday or Saturday....depending on weather)?
Seadweller
We'll leave port at 8:00am... I guess if we have to we can push the trip to Sunday if we get winded out on Friday and Saturday if there are enough people that still want to go...
joester
let's keep our positive vibrations heading towards a favorable breeze.....
can someone check bouyweather for an updated forecast please, and post the results here?
thanks!

Well blown out toay but tomorrow looks good and we will try it again. A group of us went to Puerto Lobos for the day and had a great time. That is a neat place to go but I have to say I would not want to stay there for an extended time. Kind of like Boondocking by the ocean. Plya De Oro for us with power, water, sewer, wyfi and close to good food, groceries and booz. It was quite a place to see and I found it quite beautiful in its own right.
Been there Done that kind of says it all
rockyptjoe
I second that on Puerto Lobos...but I could probably handle it for a few days....with a generator!!! I could really relax down there on the beach!
Seadweller
I want to Thank Eeeryone that came along on the trip to the island, you all made it a wonderful event and after covering fuel costs we were able to raise $600. for the schools... Thank You All....
joester
Mark -
glad you were able to raise cash for the schools too - what a beautiful day it was!
and the fish fry Sunday was delicious - thanks Bill and Edna for hosting :)
ditto on Puerto Lobos - a generator for power and A/C would make a huge difference down there
once it warms up. I would like to do some snorkling in those bays sometime...... maybe an overnight at Leigh's place????
Ladyjeeper
Count me in!

And Edna & I could paddle around and do some fishing. We just need to figure where to sleep. No way would I try to pull that 35 ft 5th wheel in there. I need to build an overnighter.
