does anyone have the details on the stash of weapons, including grenades, found on an ejido this week, between penasco and sonoyta, in the penasco municipality?
Note that all these "sporting weapons" are available at your local neighborhood gun shop. That's what MSNBC would like you to believe.
In addition to foreign trade with communist and drug trading countries, Mexico is also a source of cartel armament. 100,000 Mexican military troops defected to the cartels WITH THEIR WEAPONS.
Interesting that the individuals apprehended come from various parts of Mexico. Makes one wonder how they know each other.
"In addition to foreign trade with communist and drug trading countries, Mexico is also a source of cartel armament. 100,000 Mexican military troops defected to the cartels WITH THEIR WEAPONS."
Where did you get THAT information ?? 100,000 ????????????????? according to the Wiki there are only 192,000 total troops.
What is the point of the foreign trade comment? That would describe the United States and almost every other country in the world as well.
Bob, gun nuts live in a black and white world.NRAers can't admit their is a down side to the easy access to firearms we have in the United states,,,,,It's right up there with the world is 6,000 years old and Noah really had a big boat in their world view.....gray areas are for commies!.......

Roberto....this was reported by CNN in 2009...I'm sure that there have been more desertions by now, although I would agree that not all of them "defected" to the cartel....
Army desertions hurting Mexico's war on drugs GULF CARTEL
March 11, 2009|By Rey Rodriguez CNN
A soldier stands guard outside the forensics service headquarters in Cancun, Mexico, in February.
In the face of spiraling drug violence that has shaken the country, the Mexican army has taken a lead role in attempting to thwart the narcotraffickers. But its ability to do so has been hurt by a large number of desertions, government officials say.
At present, some 40,000 forces are deployed throughout the nation against the traffickers, according to the secretary of defense.
But during the past six years, some 150,000 soldiers have deserted, with their departures disproportionately affecting forces stationed in Guerrero, Sinaloa, Michoacan and Chihuahua -- all considered fronts in the government's fight against drug cartels.
Roberto - My statement in regard to Mexico's foreign trade with "communist and drug trading countries" is that these countries are the sources of the weapons used by the cartels. The large quantities of weapons go both ways with the drug shipments, depending on the countries. Sure, a few individuals smuggle a few weapons into Mexico from the US. That's like comparing a few individuals coming north across the border with a personal stash in their pockets, with the tons of drugs coming across the border every day.
Your dreamin Jack...the trade in guns headed south is huge.....I know guys that used to be in it 10 years ago that used to buy from gun stores and reselling to mexicans..some ended up getting busted. The gun show exclusion has made it possible to get anything you want.Maybe not at the show but the connections are made there.

jerry - Insignificant, compared to the mass importation of arms from the countries that I mentioned. What you are talking about is small stuff for personal use. Individuals smuggling a few legal guns across the border are not arming the cartels. The arms that the cartels are interested in cannot even be imported into the US, much less purchased here. The cartels are interested only in fully automatic weapons, not sporting arms, or arms for personal defense, although many individuals are interested in these types of weapons, and there is a market for them. Hugo Chavez has ravished his country into a third world nation as a communist dictatorship. He is hungry for revenue and has become involved in the lucrative cocaine trade to Europe via Africa. Russia has completed an AK47 factory in Venezuela, the product of which Chavez uses for barter for drugs. This is what arms the cartels. Take a look at the pictures of the arms confiscated in raids and you will understand.
Jack, not all water comes from Agua Zarca, there are 11 wells only 4 of them are in Agua Zarca. Ejido Agua Zarca, Oasis and a part of Ejido Lopez Aceves all are in the area (all three are separated by a pencil line on a surveyers map)of the Pancho Villa rv resort The road that goes east across the street from the Pancho Villa (Agua Zarca) separates Poblado Lopez, Agua Zarca and back toward the wells Oasis. EJIDO JOHN F. KENNEDY has the MOST WELLS. In my other post I said some tap water comes from here not all tap water comes from here. They also drilled years ago at the base of the mountains northeast of the Mayan Palace and have some capped wells there.
it appears some of you are either very insular, or in denial, about arms flowing into mx, and drugs flowing out. have you rationalized why there are 487 gun shops in az within 50 miles of the border? do you think might it be the great duck and goose hunting?
think about it: america is the only 1st world country that has not found a way to legally keep people-killing arms (designed only to kill humans) out of the hands of the general public.
Hmmm I've been thinking of opening a gun shop/shooting range in Bowie.I'm thinking of calling it "The Left handed Gun"

Can you imagine this thread with the Sub and Cactus involved?:veg:... Man, I think there's way to much cream in the coffee on this forum nowadays, and the HAPPY has turned into a sissy:gay: to boot.
Now I had hopes for the Smilin jack, he seemed like a Cactus twin at first, but he rolls over way to easy.:stir: I do like his MSNBC snide remark though, and that gives me some hope for him. But the fact is that it's been U.S. officials who have been coming out with statements like that, and it's been reported throughout the news industry. How about the Christian science monitor's report, or is that just another left wing propaganda machine..LOL Are Mexican drug traffickers armed with US guns?
Lagrimas - Sorry about that. I was a little narrow about my statement. However, according to your statement, all of the wells supplying domestic water to Penasco are in the general area. There is only one pipeline hrading into town.
jerry - That article is totally "upside down" and bogus. You cannot buy fully automatic AR-15's, AK47's, or 50 caliber machine guns in any gun shop in the US. Fully automatic weapons can only be purchased from a FFA Class 3 or Class 4 dealer, and can only be a weapon manufactured before 1986, and only after obtaining a ATT&F transfer certificate. All weapons transactions through gun shops are closely controlled by federal regulations. All sales can be traced buy serial number and buyer. Buy a gun and you will understand. These types of weapons are supplied to the Mexican cartels in mass quantities from the countries that I previously mentioned. However, there is an increasing demand for weapons for personal protection in Mexico. These are the type that are smuggled in from the US, and have little to do with the mass volumes of weapons that arm the cartels.

Think about it, NO COUNTRY has found a way to "keep people-killing arms (designed only to kill humans) out of the hands of the general public", legally or otherwise. I guess you don't consider armed criminals and murderer's a part of the "general public". It works both ways: The arms that you refer to in the hands of law abiding citizens are a perfect deterrent to those who would use them to "kill humans". Switzerland provides weapons to its military to be kept in their homes. Crime rates are very low were the citizens are armed.
"Cuerno de chivos" (sub-machine guns) are so popular and plentiful among the cartels that they filter down to the common local drug dealers, selling drugs out of cars "home delivery". The dealer drives, and his escort has a cuerno de chivo proudly displayed on his lap. I challenge anyone who claims that the US is a source of these weapons, rocket launchers, RPG's, grenades, etc. All the claims that the US is the major weapons supplier of the cartels is nothing but a blatant lie, flies in the face of reality, and a smokescreen. Anyone who believes otherwise is in total denial. Do you believe the government propaganda that the border "is as safe as it ever was"?
The guns that come from central america are mostly leftovers of our arming death squads, the contras etc......hey they are better than money these days...lets also not forget who trained the original ZETAS.....the United States Army...
