BAIT, whole frozen Sardines and such.

I'm going to be going down Santo Tomas way in a week or so and I might need some whole Sardines or ? for a little Panga trip we might make. Don't know what the live bait situation will be so I want to be prepared. I've never bought any of that type of bait in town, always caught our own, and we always had frozen one's we'd caught ourselves previously and saved. Anyone know where we can purchase some?

Thanks

Bait, ```

~ ~ ~ We went shopping @ Wal - Mart today & they have a good supply of canned sardines, I asked the butcher if all Wal - Marts have them & he said, ~ ~ ~ "SI'MON ESE" ~ ~~

~ ~ ~ He also told me that all Wallys stores carry "BAITBALLS" ~ ~ ~ "BAITBALL" ! ! !   ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ I then asked the butcher which brand would he recommend ? he asked where you were going "FISHING" ?

~ ~ ~ I told him ```FAIRY BEACH``` he say that the "HOTO MOTO" brand would be perfect for that "AREA" ~ ~ ~   ~ ~ ~

Kenny, go the the Bajada, the public boat launch on the road to old port ask any of the guy's making the fish motion, with their air poles to get you a couple bags or right across the street is Pompano's if they are open, they also sell frozen sardines. Or if Roberto will allow it, I can pick you some up and leave them with him.
Kenny
It's a place I thought of, and I've sat on that wall doing just that (fish motion, with air poles) in years past with the local boy's and had a good old time doing it. If they are open is the key word, so that would be great if you could get a few bags? 50 or so of Sardines and get them to Roberto before next Saturday and I'll leave the $$ with him.. Fact is I've already talked with Roberto about getting some in advance for me, but I think he said he couldn't find them... I think he might have, but knowing Roberto, he probably ate em!

With a glass of red wine, by candlelight. I will see if I can get them today, if no sardines, you want squid?
Kenny
That's what Roberto always wants to be bribed with, wine. I have some Squid thanks, and if I can't get the Sardines I'll probably use some Corvina or maybe some other kinds of fish we can catch in the Estuary as well. Heck, if I had to I could catch some live bait on the spot and put it right onto my heavy rig on the rock pile we'll be fishing, but whole frozen Sardines have worked well for me in the past and if they turn on it would be a shame not to be ready
Roberto
Buurrp!

Kenny, I went by the bajada and Pompanos, no sardines no bait at all. We'll see about the mackeral later today.
Roberto
Yeah, sorry , I had no luck either. I do have a can of sardines, in mustard sauce, that you can have !! They don't taste good with wine !! Well maybe white but no me gusta blanco, vino o chicas.

Me either.

I take it you are there
Kenny
If you see a couple of wino's on a corner whistling at the girls, and you've found them.

Wow~! Sardines are good for dinner. In Philippines, White fish is popular! And it is very yummy, same as sardines! =D

Might have to resort to using hot dogs.
Fish on Bait
Miguel at Safe Marina has bait you can buy, sardines and Im not sure how much if any squid
Kenny
Thanks... The three Brothers always have Squid, it's the whole Sardines that you need unless your just looking for Trigger. Yes, I know some big fish have been caught on Squid, but odds are the Triggers and such will get it first.
I remembered that safe Marina had bait at one time, but wasn't sure if they still did, and no one had spoke up about it.
HAPPY
Omg,

Kenny, Miguel at safe marina had 1/ 5 pound box left, I took them to Robertos office, they are in the freezer. I had to go pay him some rent anyway. Not Roberto, Miguel for my boat trailer.

Thanks bill, it's nice of you to out of your way for us. Now as far as Roberto go's, maybe you should have been a little more adamant about the fact they were bait because when he emailed me a while ago his quote was
"and they don't taste that good."

For future references... I just found out that the Phoenix Fishing Supply on 16th street in Phoenix carries them, but locally caught bait should be better. After all, they speak the right language.

They really looked good for sardines. He'll eat anything, make sure you aren't missing a layer.
Roberto
Buurrpp.

Kenny,
I live a mile and a half from Phoenix Fishing Supply. You want me to buy some and leave them with Roberto this weekend?
