OK, so I just made myself a cocktail to enjoy while sitting on the patio and I see 4 buoys placed off the beach that I ain't ever seen before this evening. One close enough to see with naked eye and 3 further out that I see with the binoculars. Any idea who/ why they are there?
Sounds like more nets to me. They seem to set them in closer and closer and that makes me sad and mad. They catch all of the small fish and that causes an effect on long term quality fishing.
If they are nets we should expect to see dead dolphins and sea turtles on the Encanto beaches very soon. Wish someone would go out there and cut the ropes.

Oops! Saw Bill's reply and thought it was current. Regardless, still believe in what I said. The netting has to stop. The number of dead sea turtles on the beach lately is alarming. And there is a reason we have a sea lion & dolphin graveyard at the end of the beach.
I haven't seen them since that time, no need to worry.
Wish I didn't have to worry but I remember the 6/10/14 post in "Shorefishing first weekend of June" that talked about the 2 mile long gill net in front of Encanto.

If someone cuts the ropes, be sure to haul in the net so it doesn't travel and entangle everything in its way
