You can call 066 from your cricket, in case of an emergency, this could be true for most cell phone plan's.

So...whose network is Cricket using....T-Mobile or AT&T...cause if they're not on a GSM network, it's going to be unreliable in Mexico....

Cricket piggy backs on verizon!

Their roaming coverage map only shows coverage in town though, not the East beaches or Cholla.

Worked perfect in sec 2 of las conchas.

Verizon has been on and off lately in Penasco for friends, depending on where they were staying. Previously it didn't work at all. T-Mobile and ATT are the only reliable services...Oh, OK, I found the proper map. Easiest way to scroll in is by putting in a Tucson (or Yuma) zip code, then zooming around to Penasco. Eventually the "roaming" light green areas around Penasco show up. Covers most of Mirador (but stops midway through Las Conchas?), the fish market, most of the usual "in town" areas on either side of I-8 leading into town & Sandy Beach, but Cholla Bay are left out in the cold. http://www.mycricket.com/coverage/maps/wireless

I have Verizon, stay at PDO and never have had any problems......but I don't use it a whole lot (hate it here, hate it even more down there!!). I keep it on just in case of an emergency back home.
