Jellyfish report

I usually skip RP during June-August because of the Jellyfish.
I sadly won't be able to get down at all in Sept so was hoping maybe this weekend would be perfect.
So can anyone who has been down recently give a jellyfish report?
Thanks!

El Gato
On Sandy beach 2 weeks ago saw 2 small ones washed up. Our kids and grandkids were in the water and didn't have a problem - watched where we stepped. Bring down some ammonia just in case (I understand that helps the sting) - the water is so perfect! Over tons of years I've been in it during July and August and fortunately never had a problem (hopefully luck holds).

My experience is the same as El Gato and yes the water is perfect
AZ ROB
Down a couple weeks ago saw 2 mon-o-war floating about 50 feet from beach. Had to explain to the wife that the really beautiful neon blue trash floating in the water was not trash and that if she was smart she would stay away from it.

Thanks all. Definitely looks like we will be down there this weekend. Can't wait! Always a great time.

Wait for the tide to go out alittle, then go in and when the tide is coming back in go in.
chubasco
We were told to use vinegar.

We were down there today (Tuesday 8/23/11), went swimming and didn't see any jellyfish or man of wars, and the water was really clear. The water temperature was 87 degrees at 3:00 pm, outside it was 95 degrees and 62% humidity. It was warm, but not oppressive, and didn't feel as humid as I thought it would be. Gas was $3.15 in Tucson, $3.60 at the Casino in Why, and $3.67 at the gas stations in Why. In Penasco, it was $9.09/liter or $2.86/gallon ($12 pesos/dollar). The streams were flowing from Why to Sells- a little shocking when hitting them at night going 70mph! There was a little water in Sonoyta River where it crosses the Caborca Highway by the entrance to Playa Azul (or what used to be) before the entrance to Miramar/Dorada.

Did you hear if Penasco itself got a bit of rain or is it just trickling in from the higher elevations?

There was rain to the south and east of us and I believe that it was raining a little but evaporating before it hit the ground. Cloudy for the first part of the day but then cleared up was great jetski riding weather so my wife and I went out at 4 and came back at 7 after sunset it was great

It rained a little yesterday in Nayarit by the Pinacate turn at about 2:30- just enough to mess up your windshield. We didn't see any signs of rain in Penasco, and it was clear at 3:00 pm.
