I tried it 18 years ago, it was good, then a year later they started watering down their Bloody Marys and food started to go down at the same time, maybe a trend?, how knows but have not been there since.
This one, we were told, had just opened recently. Or, maybe, reopened?
Do you have a location for the one you are mentioning, the one I am talking about is the first restaurant on the fish market as you make the sharp turn into the fish market next to Sr. Amigo.
And as far as I can remmeber it was open as of 2 weeks ago!!
Could be. We were at a furniture store and the lady gave my DD a flyer - and I thought she said they just opened. DD took the flyer back to Vegas and gave it to some friends. We've never been there. DS wants good - old fashioned - Mexican food like he remembered as a kid here. Went to La Curva last time - he loved it, so might just go back there. Yesterday at 2pm we were eating tacos at the place on Fremont - they were good. Tacos only place -- only no carne, which is what I like - the lovely greasy tacos with shredded beef and I'm in heaven.
hahah Flavios is NOT the place you want to go to then. but yeah, flavios has gone downhill fast. riding on their name and location. even sr. amigos, which is next door, isn't what it used to be. and some of the waiters there have become so annoying and embarrassing to the point that it's not even relaxing to sit there anymore. i realize you work on tips, but come ON, man!
El Gato you should try TerraMar for some mexican food, they are located in the way to the fish market right before you get to the speed bump make a right turn and at the other end at the corner you will find it, I personally love their whole fried fish, awesome!!!!
Also Olas del Mar Restaurant next to the car wash as you come into town, try their "siete mares" soup, mm, mmm, mmmmm!!!
You couldnt pay me to eat at Flavios!!!! You kidding me?! Place is the worst. Do Rocky Point a favor and dont send any first time Rocky Point newbs to Flavios. They'll have a bad taste in their mouths, literally and figuratively...

Joe, I could not agree with you more. My wife got food poisoning from shrimp and my father in law likes to go there when he gets constipated, it seems to clean him out. The last time we were there with two other couples, no one got their food at the same time and we were constantly asking for more beer.
The next time you visit TerraMar, think of me. Owner Ramon Martinez stole $100,000 from me to invest in that restaurant. When I drive by I wave to my money. By the way, the lawsuit was ruled in my favor last month at the state level. He has appealed again. Someday it will be named TerraRosy's

I dont know how it is in the U.S. I have never been in a lawsuit here, but in Mexico I have been in a couple and the appeals never end. Somebody guilty can milk the system for years.

Oh, he's been milking it for almost five years so far. I just don't have it in me to give up. Starting ProAlliance insurance with nothing after having lost my seed money was harder than I can describe, as was having to tell my children and sister how stupid I'd been to allow this to happen. On the upside, knowing that we've made the business work despite not having the money to promote it, has been hugely rewarding. That restaurant has opened and closed more often than the Black Widow's...well, you know. Thank you, Julie!

Rosy, I had 1 going my attorney said could go 12 or 13 years. I lined up a buyer and the day the court decided in our favor, we had ortega transfer the property and that ended it. Yours is a little different.
Spoke to Marty, the "last" owner of Margaritavilla the last trip down....and he had indicated about 2 years ago that he had won the court case...and he's still going thru yet another appeal!

I think he had been thru several courts and appeals for a couple of years before that!!! Always won...but the other guy kept going to another court or jurisdiction...sounded like "court shopping"!!
Yall are terrorists! Hijacking threads. For everyone that has commented on Flavios and have said "great view", you kidding me?! Of course there is a view its right on the ocean! There's about 10 more restaurants in the Malecon that have the "same view", doesnt make Flavios more appealing. I could be eating out of an out house right on the water and it would have a good view! Foods still SHITTTTTTTY though!
I haven't been in there in a while, but the downstairs men's room at El Perico Marinero on the Malecon has (had) the best view of any restroom in Penasco by far! (When you're standing up, that is.) Nothing like looking out that open-air window, hanging out in the breeze--literally!--especially after a few to-go Margs while shopping for souvenirs around the fish market.
I like their #58. The MP Lawer. Its a chili filled with shrimp, wrapped in bacon, and covered in queso. Its good. Also their whole fried fish is pretty good. I havent been there in years though because i would rather spend my money at better places to eat.
To each their own. Some people on here like Latitude 31, The Light House, and El Capitan. I have been to all three and didnt think any of them were worth eating at again.
