Governor Jan Brewer and Governor Guillermo Padres Elias are both here for the Arizona-Sonora commission (a 2 day convention). This afternoon they are both attending one of the sessions between 2:40pm and 4:30pm. Then there is going to be a press conference after that. It was suppose to be held last fall but was changed to February.

I'll go by and try to corral ole Jan for a brewski. We go way back. Former members of the Weathermen ! She was hot for the radicals back then.

A friend of mine in Penasco said she passed right in front of her with 4 security guards, where she works, at marina pinacate condos next to peñasco del sol, just walking around, doing God knows what.

She's on my boat tomorrow. She just wants to make bait and talk about all the damn scorpions. Go figure!

Gov. Jan Brewer on Friday announced the creation of a Transportation and Trade Corridor Alliance, which will study border infrastructure, border-entry capacity and competitiveness in Arizona and its Mexican sister state of Sonora.
The governor, who spoke against the backdrop of a heavily militarized police force along the rocky shores of this beach town, touted recent improvements to port capacity. But she stressed that Arizona must continue to repair and improve outdated roads and ports of entry and minimize wait times at the border to aid trade and tourism.
Arizona's largest trade partner is Mexico, and visitors from the southern country spend an average of $7.3million every day in Arizona stores, restaurants, hotels and other businesses, Brewer said. The alliance will work with state transportation and commerce officials to examine infrastructure needs, she said.

"This is a perfect occasion for the two states to assess strengths, weaknesses and opportunities of our corridor and port infrastructure -- with the ultimate goal of increasing economic competitiveness and job creation in our region," Brewer said.
Brewer's remarks capped a conference of the Arizona-Mexico Commission, a 53-year-old organization that aims to tackle shared issues such as commerce, transportation, border security, health and the environment. This conference was supposed to occur last year, but neither governor could attend. And in 2010, Sonoran Gov. Guillermo Padres Elias canceled meetings in protest of Brewer's signing of Senate Bill 1070.
The conference came as the U.S. State Department updated its long-running travel warning on Mexico, cautioning Americans to stay on main roads and travel during the day. The warning upset local tourist officials and business owners who said the advisory will sabotage spring-break bookings that the resort town heavily depends on.
The two governors met privately Friday morning with transportation and tourism officials. Both vowed to create more jobs and increase trade and tourism.
"This relationship is very, very important for us," Padres said. "We represent an economic region which is important for jobs, development and growth. We have a very strong alliance, and a very strong relation with Arizona."
Throughout the conference, officials from both states focused on long-term issues, including:
The health of agricultural workers in Arizona and Mexico, and needs of Mexican deportees who need medical assistance.
Ad campaigns to promote tourism on both sides of the border.
Roads and ports along the border to increase transportation capacity for trucks, farmworkers and tourists.

Should I move to Mexico and become a flim flam man, or to enjoy the sea of Cortes like Mark, our seadweller?
You need to get off your high horse Russ!:moon: More than a few find plenty of wonderful things to do instead of going to PP, not only in the the lower 48, but worldwide. To look down at people, or make fun of people who don't want to, or who don't feel the need to go to PP just shows how out of touch you are.
Yes I know you were being selective about who you were targeting, but still.
mexicoruss
Geez Kenney back your truck up.. I am not talking down to anyone that travels....If you travel you have to have a passport according to the US government - if you dont travel and you can afford a computer you sometimes can attain a point or perspective that is in fact out of touch my perspective is exactly in touch with what I thinkl........We travel, we understand different things. We like people. It does not matter if you come to PP or if you go to Italy, or the gulf shores or Sacramento - just go - have fun- be richer for the experience - but dont just stay home! Thats just gross.....sorry if that ruffles your feathers Kenney, btw flim flam is yours not mine...I am the real deal! But thanks for the insult JA

Actually, Mark I haven't had enough Sol to get a really accurate translation, but if you translate what Kenny is saying I'll work on this.

As best as I can determine it is a form of "Pig Polish." Something to do with a video or the like. I tried it in Google Translate and some of it does convert.

Hope to see you in a couple weeks.
Seadweller
Geesh Jack... I am Polish and I can't figure it out (maybe my nationality has something to do with it)... but then again, I have a hard time with English... and why you giving me the hard job..? Do you think Kenny even knows what Kenny is talking about..?

Hit me with a rock or something when you arrive so I'll know you're here... it would be great to meet with you...
