Any update on Sam's Club & Auto Zone

Has anyone driven by the Auto Zone and Sam's Club sites? Any construction going on? Tks.

Construction started in the new Sam's club, the machinery is getting the sand packed and flat, Autoizone is almost there needs the windows and then stock it full, and yesterday I took my quad for a ride in the beach area between Mirador and Las Conchas and noticed that also thay have started something in there and I am thinking it is the new malecon area, hopefully!! another new thing are the new blue informational signs all the way from the border to penasco, seems like our little town is gearing up for something BIG!!!

Thank you. What do you mean by 'informational signs'? Also, I noticed a really nice BBQ place being constructed on the east side of BJ - anyone know about that?

Keep your eyes peeled this place is about to explode, there are so many things in the works it could make your head spin'

Stop by early today by the new construction area between Mirador and Las Conchas, engineers were there as well workers and a couple of machines, they did agreed to let me know about the project being the new malecon area for this end of town however they were being very hash-hash about the details, in their own words "no podemos dar mas informacion porque es confidencial por el momento" "we can not give you any information as it is confidential at this monent"

Sorry, I used the wrong word, I should have used "directional" as they have the place name and the arrow pointing towards the location or street to take to get there.

Could you give a little more info about the location of the new BBQ?

If I recall it was somewhere around Calle 13 - on the east side of Bonito Juarez - still being worked on but they had a sign re BBQ and Fried Chicken, if I recall correctly.

That area between Las Conchas and Mirador is supposed to be the new public beach that was trumpeted when Gov. Brewer was here. I posted an article about it in a previous thread.

Dirt is a turnin at the Sams club underground stuff going in. Lots going on!

Understand Auto Zone is now open as of these week (Semana Santa).

I was at Bodega Aurrera yesterday and there were probably 15-20 young people there in Sams Club uniforms going through some kind of training...It is on the way and I know the builder it will be built very fast

A Sam's Club manager and three employess, in uniform, walked through Playa de Oro a few days ago promoting memberships. They said that the store here will be open in May and that Sam's Club memberships are good worldwide and that new memberships and renewals of current memberships will be cheaper here than in the U.S.
