Heres 2 pics from Monday of our new Auto Zone. For you guys up north this may not be big news but for us down here it will make life easier when we need hard to find parts for late model cars. This will save me trips to the border to pick up shipped boxes of parts or a trip to Phoenix to get parts - I love it.

We are not sure what the structure is on the corner, maybe a restaurant or something like a taco stand .....we will see.

Anyone know if this Auto Zone store collects used motor oil?
mexicoruss
No i don't think so - but alot of the local mechanics do.
HILL BOY
So what do the local mechanics do with used motor oil? Kind of scary Russ!

We use it on exposed wood for out door construction, it keeps all the termites and carpenter ants away and provides protection from the sun and other elements

When I built my beach house I asked to have the ground treated for termites. When I returned a few hours later they had saturated my pad with a 50/50 mixture of diesel fuel and used hydraulic fluid. I took a shovel and dug down and the sand was wet with this liquid down to about a foot. Haven't had a termite yet. My friend also spent a week at my place and used his time to work on his Suburban. After draining the transmission fluid he painted my wood garage doors and front gates with the waste. Worked great.

They also dip dogs in used oil to kill the mange .
MIRAMAR
They used to use it to seal Mexican tile

Putting in the ground is illegal in the US. Contains carcinogens and can contaminate gound water. Just sayin.
mexicoruss
Yeah like theres nothing in your coolaid? Roberto think for a minute...how many things are legal in the USA that have potential risk to users? Thousands.....drugs and their side effects? millions......just sayin....

Yes, it can be just a little confusing. Applying used oil on weeds in the U.S. was banned by law, but to safeguard the citizenry, Mosanto offered us Round Up instead, and so we now have 'agent orange' entering the food chain.............all for the good of us all.

On new wood it wouldn'the absorb to much, remember we never stored shotguns standing up in closet..made walnut brittle as I remember....If you had a shallow well in sandy soil it would be bad idea but on VG Doug fir boat decks people have used it for 100 years

Putting anything on the ground for termites is a waste of time in Rocky Point, the termites are not the subterranean type, they are swarming type which means they get into your wood by air not by tunneling.
