Flooding and potholes

The big water main coming into town along Benito Juarez broke (again) last night and the roadway was flooded and some of the pavement damaged. It was on the town side of the military stop not too far. Still very passable for vehicles but with caution.

Also there are a lot of serious potholes throughout town. Drive with care and watch the roads carefully. Drive through the puddles at your own peril. I ruined a tire a few days ago when I dropped a wheel into a large hole that was filled with water. Benito Juarez is in pretty good shape but Samuel Ocana is ripped up bad.

Potholes...great idea. Students Invent a Pothole Repair Patch Made from a Non-Newtonian Fluid | Popular Science

Ave Luis Encinas is starting to get pretty beat too. Everything near the back of the marina, over by Gua Gua and calle 13 are beat to hell!

Sonoyta takes the cake though. After that flooding and rerouting of traffic the alternative route which I like is beat to hell and I mean beat!!! I have a desert capable truck and these streets in Sonoyta beat the hell out of my truck. Last week when I was down, leaving town I swore if I hit one more non marked/poorly marked speed bump I was going to explode! What's the idea in Mexico anyways? Enough pot holes and speed bumps to completely destroy your automobile? Sounds good to me, ~~~ORALE~~~ the speed limit is 60KPH, put a ````` SPEED BUMP `````~~~~~ AQUI~~~~~ CABRON.

Took out the bottom of our bumper on a pothole just past the Super Ley on Constitucion. Yikes!!

Yet there have been work crews trimming the bushes 8-10 foot away from the road out of Sonoyta during the week........

Should have them cleaning up that trash nightmare and filling in pot holes.

I agree with Joe, That alternate route through Sonoyta is beat! I actually have gone past Vasquez the last few times just to take it easy on my vehicle and I'm ridding on 35 inch tires!

so I have an '05 Scion tC. I drove it down last year and had zero issues with any road conditions. So I take it the roads are really bad now. If needed, can anyone suggest an alternate route through Sonoyta I should take to avoid possible distruction of my car?

Good news is that I saw a couple of vehicles with trailers patching yesterday.

The 'regular' route through Sonoita was fine last week. Slow but in good shape.

good to hear - Thanks for the update

Yep...I just went through this morning on the regular route and it was fine. Four ahead of me at the border
and they didn't turn me away. I did have to leave my wife though. Told her I'd be back in April. She said, "Don't hurry."

Is that a bad thing???????

Ed, 33's and offroad suspension... still jolts the hell out of the truck. I'll pry always go the alternate route (shortcut) through Sonoyta, just bitching I guess. Wish they could hot patch some of it.

No problem....She lost it.

I haven't turned it in yet because whoever has it is spending less than she was.
