We used to live in the valley there - midway between Douglas and Wilcox - a big white farmhouse sitting on top of a hill. Could see forever. Near neighbors were the Palmers. Was a fantastic place to live. Took all the grandkids to hike to Ft. Bowie.

Our address was Elfrida but we were actually about 123 miles north of the town of Elfrida. Big sheep ranch near us. Loved Spring time when the baby lambs appeared - always took a lot longer to get home as I'd have to stop and watch. At night there would be loud 'cannon' noises as they would shoot them off to keep the coyotes away from the lambs.
