Anybody here or see anything new?? I've seen they cut a road and staked the layout but what else?
I keep looking up the web site and it is still under construction, with no new info, WTF. I need to know for vacation time requests.
Thank for the input. I was really looking forward to it. Joe (from JJ's) thought it would be a go since money was spent on the road. Although much smaller venue.
Drove by this morning. The banner that was on the chain link is tattered and in pieces, most lying on the ground. There is no evidence of recent activity that I could see. It looked like they had moved a ittle sand but nothing of consequence. The wind will take care of that! Have photos andy trying to load them.
I would love to know who's really behind this whole thing.
Yo Tambien. Planting grass in that location, what a complete joke. I just waiting for the other shoe to drop. If it's not a scam it's mindless activity.
Ah, one of my favorites. "Sacred Laying of the Auld Sod" I saw it with that famous Irish
actor Gerald Fitzpatrick or was it Patrick Fitzgerald? I dunno..it was one of those two Irish guys.
Two Tickets to Paradise! One of Jerry's favorites!!! Eddie will be there!
No!!!!, although the Mickey Rourke/Jan Michael Vincent of the music world keeps on playing that hit. maybe a booth where Hulk Hogan punches you 25 bucks would be a money maker or pay for view of The Dukes of Hazzards Dodge Charger getting stuck in the sand and become a reef.
I have heard a rumor Jon Travolta is flying with Tubbs and Crocket of Miami Vice fame.
I think David Soul of Starsky & Hutch fame will be singing "Don't Give Up On Us". If we get lucky, maybe a little Leo Sayer, "You Make Me Feel Like Dancin'", or Orleans with "You're Still the One." Love that stuff, just won't pay $900 to camp in a luxury tent on Sandy Beach in 100 degrees with 90 humidity to hear it. That's what iTunes is for! But then during the heat of the day, Starland Vocal Band takes the stage with "Afternoon Delight". LMAO!!!

You forgot the Young Rascals grooving on a Sunday afternoon. If this don't take you back, you were asleep at the wheel...Groovin' - The Young Rascals - YouTube
Ok fine. I'll tell the truth. I'm hoping all the big acts are a no show and Leif Garrett and Shaun Cassidy will show up instead. I would've asked for Andy Gibb, but he's with Zappa.
I would love to know who's really behind this whole thing.
His name is Henry Altman. Google him to find that he's a real estate developer and internet radio expat "Retire Abroad"-type salesman. Nothing to indicate he's ever done a concert previously. I've said from the beginning, this simply isn't going to happen. I feel bad for those who are out money, but it isn't like they weren't warned.

How many people do you think bought tickets? I would love to see the disclaimer language on the tickets too. I'll bet there weren't even actual tickets printed. Maybe a confirmation e-mail paying by credit card via the internet. Still, I'd love to see the disclaimer language. Rosy - P.S. Danny says "Hola Madrina!" LOL
I'd be shocked if anyone actually bought a ticket given the process. Of course there's one born every minute. I knew a gent that had a place in Penasco who fell for the Nigerian scam 5 or 6 times !! Each time he told friends that he was going to get the money this time. Unbelievable yes, and he was a tight a## with money. Odd as he was not delusional about other stuff. He was completely wiped out and recently died.

Death by Nigerian General....you should writ it up!

Altman owns a ghost subdivision on the way to El Golfo. maybe he is doing this just to get a mailing list?
I would certainly say he is trying to sell a development there but bet he owns nothing. Besides all that up and down stuff is on an Ejido, I'm pretty sure.

If we have not one single other thing to boast about on this forum, we can take pride that we have the best scam filters of ANY forum!! We know 'um when we see 'um and we call it like it is. I still remember the 1st time I read anything about Liberty Cove and how the DING! DING! DING! ALERT! ALERT! ALERT! noise went off in my head. :puff:
Its a trance group. Don't think it goes with the boomer crowd (more like what the children of the boomers listen to). Just replace shrooms with Ecstasy

It is the kind of music that makes you give away your Pigeon Coop, renounce MMA fighting and move to Goa India and just live man.
I saw the ads but really didn't think much of it until I got a call from a Canadian that had rented my Green Valley house. They heard about it in Canada and knew about RP from being here. My manager in RP has not blocked my unit for the dates and they manage a lot of property. Is the general feeling down there, that this will never happen?
Was at my fav bar last night and rumor has it that George Lopez and Sinbad are two of the three comedy acts signed on. Man those budlight Lime & Rita's were pretty good!

Sinbad!!!! Wow, those $1,500 VIP meet and greet tickets are looking like a real bargain. I heard that after his most recent bankruptcy Sinbad was running a lemonade stand in front of his soon to be foreclosed house.
Hmmmm San Luis scammed by fake Mana concert
Authorities have launched an investigation after a small border city says it was ripped off by scammers posing as concert bookers for the Mexican rock band Mana.
San Luis officials said the city was swindled out of $50,000 in 2012 when it wired money to what they thought was a concert-booking agency in Mexico, the Yuma Sun reported.
The money was to pay for the Grammy-award-winning Mana to play at the city's Barrier 2 Bridge conference.
But Mana never showed up.
The supposed booking agency failed to respond to repeated phone calls and emails from the city seeking a refund.
The San Luis City Council has voted to write off the money as lost funds.

If you know who Mana is, $50,000 would be EXTREMELY cheap considering they are the U2 of the Latin World.
I think their track record of non performance makes it clear that Boomerfest will NEVER happen. As was pointed out last year, even if these so-called promoters had a suitcase full of money, no agent would ever sell a show to them. Clearly that is the case as they can't ever seem to announce an artist lineup.
There is a bar in the Malecon with the same name and his truck used to be parked there frequently. Not sure if it iis still open.
In some way's that deal was very similar to this bumfest nonsense. I took one look at the pictures of the cars on that first poster, especially Johnny Herrera's 45X, and I knew right then it was nothing but a delusional pipe dream and said so.

Yeah well maybe, but to be fair to the track. Since Bob L left the track and Darren has taken over there have been a dozen or so events that have had crowd in excess of 500 or so watching mods, dwarfs, and sand drags, so it is not a complete flop theres another race this month coming up with the local drags. You outta come down and see it. It won't change your mind but it is a lot of fun!

No maybe about it..We always said that they might make a go of it with the hobby classes, sand drags, trucks etc, but the initial release was just nonsense, and Bob knew it! That's one of the reasons he changed the original poster to one with non wing sprint cars in positions where you couldn't see the number of the car. He had nothing. He had nothing to back it up, nothing! OK, Bobby Marcum came down the first time by himself, and then he brought Zack Sawyer (who's family owns a place in Cholla Bay) with him the second time for fun and games.
Thunder raceway is still trying to recover and Don Earvin has brought Sprint Cars back there for the first time in years.
Well whatever he is no part of the track anymore and it is doing fine. August 27th is the next race that is being planned. You will never see me stand up for Señor Livingston. Darren however is a stand up guy!

Yes it is and it would be doing much better if realist goals were set from the start...I wish Darren and everyone involved with it now the best of luck and much success.
We have a bartender here in GV at the AZ Family Restaurant who was telling me how he was going to go to it and how they had the Beachboys, etc
all lined up. I told him not to send any money to anybody just yet that it looked like it COULD be a scam. He was dejected. I hope he hasn't paid anyone anything.

Anything new I can pass along to him?
I think you did the guy a service already, course doubt he could afford a ticket at the prices mentioned.
