Hi All,

I just spoke to Rosie and she asked me to remind all of you that the annual Black & White Ball is being held on November 30th - that's the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Tickets are $60.00 each/$120.00 per couple and the money goes to support DIF (Desarrollo Integral de la Familia) - the family services organization in Mexico to help struggling families. This year's Ball is being held at the brand new Convention Center near Sandy Beach and will be the inaugural event. Rosie mentioned the Governor of Sonora may even be there.

If you'd like to attend, let me or Rosie know and we can provide you with the bank account number to deposit the money for your tickets.

My husband and I went last year for the first time and would not miss it this year for anything - we had a blast.

Let me know if you need any other info. Hope you to see you there!

Sounds like fun. What other activities will they have along with it?
Are there any pics or something to read about last year?
mis2810
Not sure about other activities. It's a basically a gala, women wear long dresses (black or white obviously), men in suits. They served finger foods last year, and there was a band and a dance floor. Lots of drinking going on. We didn't leave till 4:30 a.m. - started at 9:00 p.m. C'mon Todd! It'll be fun - the 4 of us can share a cab from Sandy Beach !!!!!!

I usually save my winter trip for Feb over pres day weekend. But my GF and I need a get-away badly.
Might just have to make the trip. I hear the weather is perfect that time of year.......but when is it not ;)

Got any leads on a place to stay for a couple of nights?

We went last year and really enjoyed ourselves - there was red carpet treatment and Bill and I had fun dancing. It is for a wonderful cause plus a chance to get all dolled up - and everyone does dress up! It should be even more special being at the new Convention Center.

Todd, did you have to cancel your trip for October? I hope not!

Rosie, I had a question about tickets. Is it possible to buy them at the door?
tequilatodd
Only 2 more days of work. 4 more days till my butt is back in PP where it belongs. :D
Almost time to do the happy dance.
Ladyjeeper
Do you guys have Mexican cell phones Todd and Melissa, I mean...
tequilatodd
I don't. My GF might be able to use her's and get a SIM card or Mex calling card.
I have done it before. Cost me $15
mis2810
I do. I'll send you both the number in a PM.
Ladyjeeper
K, Melissa, I'll send you mine back......You too, Todd, just in case...

You guys make us look good since you are major supporters of the home port, which is this years theme.

Being a major supporter and seeing the port as an opportunity to escape the US are two completely different things.
playaperro
That's why they call it the black and white ball.
mis2810
Seriously, if I can find a way to escape from the US, my cheerleading will make Russ look like The Grinch. No offense Russ, you know I'm just kidding.
Roberto
You will certainly qualify for one of the higher jpaying jobs in the area. You might even make $1,000 a week. ...........Pesos that is:D:D:D:eek::eek:

Does anyone have information on the specific program for the Black & White Ball; particularly relating to the Home Port? Will said program be entirely in Spanish? There was talk that the Governor would attend...has that been confirmed? What other muy importante Penasco y Sonora personas might attend?
mis2810
The mayor and his wife go, and from what I saw last year, usually other city government officials. Would be nice if Javier Tapia Camou from Sonora tourism would be there.
