The airport is done. The road from the Caborca Highway to the airport is finished and the test flight by the Federal agency that controls airports has made it's test landing and takeoff. We are waiting for the Governor and the Mayan people to come to dedicate the facility and move the equipment from the old to the new.
Leigh I hear it's far from finished. They are building the 15 miles to the north of Desemboque to Ejido Obregon which is 6 miles from Santo Tomas. I also here the airport still has some snags.Of course we only want happy news on this forum area so I guess we will all ride brightly colored flying ponies until the planes appear. Dibs on a baby blue one with sprikles!
