Does anyone know if the jellyfish are out. I have read that June and July are the worst time of the year for jellyfish and rays in PP.

Jellies are very popular in June and July.
As far as rays, a kid in our group was stung last year near the end of may.
flicks
They had signs up at Playa Bonita during Memorial Weekend about them. But we never saw any..
mexicoruss
Cholla bay has no jellies right now but has a lot of rays in the water, do the shuffle, if you want to I don't mean to tell you what to do!
wildtoucan
The sting ray shuffle....a new dance move?
AZRob
Im going to try BBQ ray when I come down
mexicoruss
Sting ray is actually quite good for food
AZRob
I forgot who I seen on tv eating one, but I do want to try one. Some how I end up catching a few ever time I fish.

http://www.lifestylefood.com.au/recipes/22282/prawn-and-jelly-fish-salad. Rob most good Vietnamese restaurants have a version for your eating pleasure....it is real good

I think we were still on rays and eating them. Not jellyfish.
But are absolutely correct on the Vietnamese thing

The ladies out at El Barco oyster farm make manta tacos which are excellent
MIRAMAR
I didn't see any jelly fish this weekend (either Saturday or Sunday), and we did the shuffle, so no sting rays.
MIRAMAR
There weren't any jelly fish this weekend (6/28-6/29/2014) on Playa Miramar (but there were a lot of small fish jumping out of the water).

How often are there rays on Rocky Beach, Mirador ? Do they mainly stay where there is sand ?
ADR
They were out in force Friday June 27th over by Manny's. Saw none on sandy beach Saturday June 28th. Go figure.. Might have been the wind

There were none on Saturday the 28th, but on Friday the 27th there were quite a few. Windex works fantastic. My husband got stung a little - sprayed windex on a napkin and put it on his leg - no pain at all after a minute. I offered to pee on him, but he refused my offer - ingrate!!!!!

I've never been stung, but my kids got stung all over their body in San Carlos about 10 years ago and still complain about it.
A scorpion decided to fight me last year, and won. That was enough wildlife adventures to last me for awhile.

An old Mexican guy who is a very good friend told me that when stung by a scorpion catch it and smash it. Then take the liquid that squirts out of it and rub it in the sting. Said if you do that you won't have a problem, if you don't, big problem.

I accurately believe that to be true, I've never been stung. I'm usually catching them by their tail. One thing I learned is don't leave you beach chair under a palm tree or leaning on a wall by the beach shower, I had a female scorpion with babies fall in the chair and I carried it to the beach and she ended up on my shoulder, I looked her in the eyes and she said what up Rob wheres my cerveza. Its the same with catfish, but you rub the spot on its belly and the sting goes away fast.

The mota might get him high, but I think its a different type that you can get high by smoking the tip of the tail.
HILL BOY
From what I think he said it was like taking acid

As of this morning I have not even seen a piece of jellyfish floating around! and the water has been just the way I ordered, PERFECT!!!!
My experience with jelly fish is that they get here when the humidity is so high is ready to rain or it has rain even if it is just for a few minutes and not a full rain it could be virga, not to be confuse with verga!!!
This year, as any other year, nobody knows when they are coming but the humidity and rain is a better indicator of their arrival than any date anybody will tell you, rarely you will see them in June the best answer will be that they come when the Monsoon season comes and remember only the idiots in TV will tell you Monsoon season starts in July 1st!!!
Marius
I have been fishing in Estro De Marua and swimming on Las Chonchas all weekend and I have not seen one jellyfish ... but PERFECT water ... darn it I am back to work today...
InkaRoads
It rain last night in RP!! I will be going to the beach and checking if there are any jelly fish!!!

I was thinking either Mi Playa or Mirador, but first I have to finish with wiring 220 for the A/C, some electrician got a hold of the house before I got in and left a mess!!!!
Wood Spinner
I have to love this. Just like old times !
Jaimee o
Just back from Mirador. Saw several of the ones that have a clear body and blue tentacles. Guess those arent true jellies, but they do sting. Luckily we didn't get hit by any.
Wingman
In Los Conchas and have seen a few of the blue tentacle ones washed up on shore. Nothing to get worried about.
GV Jack
Question to you Jellyfish authorities.

After they was up on the shore, are they still a treat to sting someone whose comes in contact?

Thanks.
InkaRoads
they will bite on the arss as long as there is a drop of humidity in that little jelly body of them and sometimes even after they are dry, so rule of thumb if you find one almost dry in the sand do not roll over it like the dawg does when he is on the beach!!!
lagrimas85
I would have to based on Fabiola's high jump off of a boat seat in San Felipe, say yes. We were fishing when the jellyfish came floating by, I put my knife in the water and sliced one in half scooped it up and set it on the boat seat and forgot about it, until a little while later..
