JJ's Cantina burned down

I just saw on a friends Facebook that JJ's burned down today. Can anybody conform that and if so... What happened?

Kitchen fire. It didn't burn down.

Wow.. Glad the damage was not total.. It's been part of our experience there FOREVER..:)

Really glad we didn't lose JJ's. I'll take being at JJ's over any of the modern fancy places.

All you JJ's Cantina Fans, Iupdate from Karen Elaine Aldridge about the fire... No one was hurt other than minor bumps and bruises from trying to put the fire out, but a section of the roof has collapsed...

What I love about Mexico is that an issue like this is just business as usual. In the states, the place would probably be shut down for weeks until they were allowed to open again.

Also reminds me of a story from the late 90's in Rocky Point...

Every time we would go down there, Manny's seem to have launched some sort of new addition, dance floor, or bar area. Well one time we went down and they had hastily put up a room that was going to serve as a in house taco stand. It had a nice grill, little window for ordering, etc... So we went up there to order and I took a peak inside and t was clear that they never thought about ventilation during the construction of this little enterprise. As a result, they had just carved out a hole in the ceiling for the smoke to escape. In Mexico, there's always a way...
