Gold spot catch.

Ya, I know, nothing compared to what Stuart or the guys down in Puerto Lobos caught, but we did great earlier this week. Spent Wednesday night out on the boat at Area 51, perfect weather, woke up to misty blue calm seas, and an orange sunset popping out over the mountains in the background, couldn't get any better. This was an incredible catch, we looked it up and the world record for Goldspot bass is 10 lb 4 oz, and my buddy pulled up a double header 7 lb and a 7 lb 2 oz at one time!

-Road construction for new paving around Safe Harbor pretty tricky, should be done in a week or two
-Fishing licenses now available at City Hall in Puerto Penasco

Great job Yuma. Is the 51 kilometers or miles?

Wish it was kilometers, but it's miles.

It's about 47 miles from the Penasco main harbor. Like many of the popular reefs and waypoints, the distance was calculated from Cholla Bay back in the heyday of the Cholla Bay Sportsman Club. Nearly all the sport fishing took place out of there, as the Penasco harbor was primarily commercial fishing.

We like to call the really big gold spots "Spotasaurus"
