Interesting comment below the article by Antonio Rivera. Makes me wonder... No mistakes here, absolutely not saying there was anything right about the disappearance and murder of the 43 students and the mayor/police/cartel involvement.

Antonio Rivera
"Those are a bunch of leftist guerrilla trained pseudo-students and their so called teachers who had just high jacked that bus, something that has occurred constantly on that and other Mexican states. they steal the buses more than 50 of them are actually on their campus, and then go on a crime spree of stealing, burning and destroying any business big or small that are on their route. They are advocates of installing an independent communist state and have establish relations with all the leftists guerrilla goons in south and central America. We are sick and tired of their criminal antics and of their Marxists attitudes, and any actions taken by the authorities is more than welcome and applauded by most of us who are well bread, decent law abiding and proud Mexican citizens. VIVA MEXICO"

Wow. The rest of the comments are the norm but not sure what to say other than wow.

Yeah, definitely a different response to all this. I wonder if any of it is true? Even if it's partly true it could explain at least a couple of things.

This is a tough one.

I don't think anyone on the outside would dispute how the events unfolded with the previous students. And continued unrest considering the players involved across the board would be understandable. But trying to accomplish your goals in a Grand Theft Auto sorta way would DE-lagitimize you efforts and give comments from Mr. Rivera at least a leg to stand on.

"The missing students had gone to Iguala to collect money and hijack buses to be used to drive to other events in Mexico City, AP reported."

However, the story is fairly vague. Even with this statement from AP, who stated this to the AP? The story seems to be very lacking in source even though there is video and so on.

I find this to be a very controlled amount of information being handed out. While I can understand Mr. Riveras' comments about students being influenced by communist ideology , the leftist comment and connection seems to be a very convenient way of detracting from the Governments roles and all but validating the Cartels involvement in an almost political way.

I kinda feel like there is an attempt to sway or control my opinion on the behavior of the authorities.. I don't know if this makes sense. It kinda has my head a little messed up. Need more info.

You know there is something bothering me about this Antonio Rivera.

His statement is definitely not a translation and the way it is written and reads shows more than just a fluency with the written English language. He uses terminology that you would expect out of a very Right leaning American and even the way it is structured seems as though he had said it before.

Yet his response was typed quickly and not proof read because of basic mistakes like not capitalizing the first letter in one of his sentences and saying "on" instead of "in" about 2/3 through the first sentence.

I call BS on this, something doesn't smell right.

Blaming the victim..... sort of makes it worse if there was a conspiracy from the federal level to torture and murder 43 people because they borrower a bus

More than the story now, I take issue with this Antonio person. It's more like insert propaganda "here" kinda thing.
Not that I am saying it's ok to break the law in order to address the law makers but, his statement doesn't make me think Mexican National. More like an individual or group trying to relagitamize what is probably seen as a corrupt government at all levels.
