I have decided to challenge the kayak field in the Cholla Bay Championship of Professional Pro Fishermen, Kayak Category... I hope to finish first place in multiple categories.... main competition... of BLAIR blood, a cousin poised to sit atop the thrown... Not if I will have it...
Well considering I've heard there are no other kayak entries if you bet on me you would win about .000001 cent on the dollar. I woldn't mind taking home a couple categories though... I think a Triple Crown is possible.... Sierra Mack, Corvina, Flounder/Halitbut
Well... It didn't go so well. Windfinder.com owes me money because the forecast was so far off it was ridiculous. I would say gusting 20mph on Saturday and 10-15mph on Sunday after 12pm. I went out regardless because that's what professional pros do. It was futile... I had to worry about not drowning every two minutes I was out there. Half heartedly fished and didn't catch anything but one rock bass. I hope that I can return for Memorial Weened and try one last time to take the crown. Shout out to everyone in CHOLLA BAY that helps me on the regular, to the good people that are too good to me, The Blairs, Jippie, Villa, Mr Fish Taco....ESPECIALLY Cholla Bay Sportsmen's Club!!!! Thank you!

The pros don't launch. Too foolhardy. Good shot at it tho' Joe
The shrimpers won't even attempt it. They stay put in port or if get caught unawares head for proverbial "any port in a storm". I've spent many an afternoon or even overnight anchored on the lee side of Isla San Jorge with a dozen or more PP shrimpers. Couple a times tried to make the afternoon run home only to be caught up in mother of all washing machines, ten foot swells coming in from the west, six foot chop coming in from the north, forty or fifty mile an hour winds and sixty degree water temps. Each swell puts fifty gallons of cold wind swept salt water over the gunnels, the scuppers are overloaded, a foot of water is on the deck, impossible to use the autopilot, forget about the vodka and lime chill-out. A person could walk faster than the headway the boat is making. Burn seventy or eighty gallons of gas just to go twenty miles. Always plan ahead with a wetsuit though, if you can get it on while being pitched around like a dog with a rag doll. A few years back I launched along with two guys with a brand new Arctic Cat about 25 foot or so. They never came back, not a trace, their truck and trailer were still at the launch three days later. That's offshore springtime fishing!
