Crossing 11-29

We crossed today at 2:10 pm and had a 1 hour wait, the line was back to Wendy's. When it was my turn to talk to the agent she was quick to tell me to pull forward to red line just past the office and turn my engine off and roll up windows and lock the doors. I didn't see that I had lowered the back window so we were able to listen to whole thing going down. That's when all hell broke loose! About 10 agents surrounded the car next to me and had guns on this man on the passenger side of the car. An older Mexican woman was driving the car. They told him to keep his hands up and get out of the car slowly. It was like watching Cop's on TV. The guy was put in cuffs and they told the woman to pull over to the ramada area. The woman agent was so shook up that she told me to go now and didn't ask me anything. I think this must have been some bad guy for sure. Woke us up from the hour wait!

I wonder where they got those ten agents from. They usually don't have enough to handle normal traffic flow. In addition to low morale, which contributes to no shows for work, there is inadequate manpower funding for the staffing requirements of the Lukeville Port Of Entry. This is a smuggler's delight, because since there isn't adequate manpower to handle routine traffic, there is even less manpower for secondary inspection. If the job cannot be done right, why are we wasting taxpayer's money?

3 for the traffic lanes, 7 on Krispy Kreme rotation duty.

(notice there isn't one for the pedestrian lane, which is why they have the camera on the desk)
