We made it out fishing on March 9, 19, and 21 at about 25 to 30 miles out in 80 to 175 feet of water using live mackerel and barracuda for bait. The total for 3 days of fishing was 10 white sea bass from 30 to 50 pounds, a 30 pound yellowtail, and 16 grouper (gulf, leopard, pinto) from about 10 to 25 pounds. The biggest white sea bass was 54" long.

Outstanding Shawno...........

Brought my boat home last Saturday from the Yamaha service center in Havasu. A few thousand $$$$ and I'm ready for action. I'll be out there in a week or two with my fresh rebuilt twin screws seeking blood on the decks.

Good shot of the belly of the big WSB showing the ridge of spiny scales that positively identify it from the Toto.

GREAT pics and GREAT catch!

Out of curiosity, where did you get the live 'cudas? Never thought about using them for bait, but then again, have never come across any numbers of them, just a one off here and there.

We've been catching barracuda more and more on sabiki rigs at the same old places that we catch bass and grunts. They show up on sonar as squiggly lines suspended in the water column. There are lots of them, they are invading.
