Forest fires

Due to the extreme drought this winter the risk of forest fires couldn't be any greater. We are already at extreme danger levels with red flag warnings almost daily due to the winds. The Fisher Fire started 5 miles S/E of Flagstaff Friday afternoon and was classified as man made. That means it shouldn't have happened. They haven't released details yet but it was most likely a result of stupidity. This foolishness must stop now. When fire restrictions are in place, there is good reason and they must be followed to the letter. Our forests are a beautiful place. Let's work together to keep them that way. http://www.wildlandfire.az.gov/

Our friend Don has already had a fire up his way in Flag and where I live in the Prescott National forest is dry as a bone!

Good news with the Fisher Fire, 90% containment. Confirmed human caused, cops are trying to track them down. New fire near Sierra Vista called the Brown Fire burning in the Huachuca Mountains. Zero containment, human caused once again. Hope the cops catch these idiots. City of Flagstaff implementing fire restrictions starting this Friday morning in preparation of the upcoming holiday weekend. No fire pits or any other open flame devices. Propane grills permitted. Forest and county officials also are considering fire restrictions. Hope they hurry before it's too late. The forests are as dry as they have been in many years.
