Land reclamation at the top of Cholla Bay

Lovin it in RP!
You are gonna need facebook to view this, but Thursday right at hightide we saw the bay break through a man made dike, it was pretty cool you can view it here The tide is high
We opted out of staying as we weren't sure how high it may go. Today is the new moon so the tide will actually be higher than yesterday.

In the early 90's when there were really high tides the main road into Cholla would be covered with 1-2 feet of water.
Eventually the Cholla Bay HOA and G.Brown moved the road south to it's current location to stop this from happening again.

Do remember the road to Cholla Bay being underwater on a few occasions. Used to love seeing the bay completely empty, sit at JJ's and have a few beers and before you knew it, water would be slapping up against the seawall out back. Always kind of an amazing thing.

Especially good when all the people we told who parked below JJ's to move their cars and they didn't listen.
Saw more than a few slightly floating and for those who had their windows down watching the water swoosh through their cars with everything inside floating was priceless.
So many drunk pissed off people who didn't listen and trying to move their cars when they were sitting in 3 feet of water.
