More whales around than ever before.

I was checking Facebook and Yiyi tours has many pics of whales running around Penasco breaching.
Maybe we won’t have to travel to Baja California to see them from now on.
Anyone know why they are here?

February 21, 2024 Fishing Report
Fishing for Yellowtail, calico, grouper, cabrilla and sierra. Bonita earlier in the month.

Wildlife spotting: dolphin. Maybe Whale Shark, Humpback, Fin Whales, Grey Whales, turtle
You know that Spring is in the air when you see a marlin in February. It got a little excited when I threw a surface iron at it. Still too early, but if I had known that they saw a couple the day before I would have had a ballyhoo ready. Some mantas were swimming out there, and lots of dolphin.

There was even a pod of active pilot whales just off Doble in the fog. Sightings of Orcas too. I think that things will start early this year.”

Whales have been coming to Penasco for years, but the Gray Whales in Baja are very friendly and come up to the boats to be pet.
