Be careful. Police did not used to come into tourist area. Now they are all over the place. So don’t think you can drive careless and especially drink and drive. Weather you are driving a vehicle bike quad or razor.

I certainly do not have a problem with enforcing laws assuming it is done in a uniform manner. It is clear to any regular, even casual observer, that there is no traffic enforcement on holidays. Particularly on Calle 13 and feeder streets near the condos. Taxis are a problem every day and ATVs and Razers are wildly out of control. You have to speculate that it is an official decision of the government to not enforce traffic laws during busy times. But you may get stopped with US plates anywhere, anytime for anything.
