Quadruplets in Rocky Point!

In early June, a group of 240 people (almost 200 youth) from the Rotary Club in Salt Lake City, Utah went to Rocky Point to build 3 houses and complete 2 others that had been started on a previous trip. This is an annual project that they have committed to with “Families Helping Families”. For more information on the project visit: http://www.sonoranresorts.mx/?p=5132

While completing their commitment they were made aware of a family (Orlando and Zulema Rodriquez) who were in need of assistance immediately. As you can see from the pictures they live in a small 2 bedroom house with a bathroom addition that has never been completed. It has a toilet and shower area, no sink and no roof. There is one sink in the house, in the kitchen. This is not uncommon in Mexico. What makes this situation different is this family of 4 is expecting to double in 30 days. Zulema is pregnant with quadruplets and has been taken to Hermosillo to be under doctor’s care until delivery.
All of the extra building materials from the project last week are being used to add a new room and patio overhang on the front of the house so the babies will have their own room. “Families Helping Families” is also putting a roof on and finishing the bathroom. The construction is underway and will be completed within 20 days.

If you are interested in helping fund this building project you can go onto the website for the NON-PROFIT organization “Families Helping Families” and make a TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION ( http://www.fhfmexico.org/donate/give-money/ ). The project will cost $2,500 to complete and it would be nice to raise that amount through the website ASAP.
This group goes to Mexico twice a year to build houses. Every penny that this organization raises goes to the projects, 100%, not one penny is used for administration or anything else.
