Road Blocks and car searches

Did anyone else run into the numerous road blocks and car searches that the Mx Federal Police where doing this weekend in RP? When I spoke with one shop owner and asked about it, his response was they were looking for drugs.

We didn't go into town, but we were stopped by military about 10 miles outside of Sonoyta on Friday morning. There was a large contingency, including dogs. This has happened on one or two other occasions, usually busy weekends. Yes, they're looking for drugs...and predominantly from their own Mexican cartel people. Often they'll have their faces covered since it's a dangerous job.

This weekend they said it was stolen cars they were looking for and only stopping newer looking vehicles. They were very polite to us but to a couple of nationals they seemed very nasty and pushy. Probably looking for any criminal action.
